I know what you mean about the z505... I thought about that one, instead. However, it is a bit bigger, costs more, and ... um... isn't as cool-looking... :)

I have the PCG-N505VE, which is the predecessor to the SR#K series. I don't find the screen to be too small at all, even if it is running at 1024x768. I recommend going to a store and taking a look at a disply model first though.

update! i was just checking pricegrabber.
and the z505 light version (p3500, 64, 9 gb)
is only 1559 at compdirect.com (dont know if refurb)
and the well know notebooksuperstore has it for 1679.

would have to agree about compdirect. not a good reseller from personal experience.

dude i would so get the z505 for 20$ less. its much sweeter. you absolutley need that screen space, i dont care how sharp that 10 inch is. go to frys or something and look at em both.

My only problem with the z model line is the poor battery life. Some only have 1.5-2 hours MAX :(

FOR SR series, depends on what you are working on, it normaly runs 2-3 hrs using batteries. It is a Li-Ion battery. Well, most online auction sells SR5K at $1250-$1320, and SR7K at $1400-$1500.
