Hot deal on a case. Looks to be better than the ever case.

MAXTOP CSX-147K-GF-USB-GRAY at NewEGG. It's got a blow hole and a fan on the side panel! It looks sweet, comes with a 350w PS.

Its $49.00 plus $15 for shipping.

Here's a pic of it. MAXTOP case

it doesn't come with all the cool screwless stuff like the evercase (which i got), of course. but does that look like a removable motherboard plate thing to you?

Here's a link for the linking impaired... 😉
MAXTOP CSX-147K-GF-USB-GRAY
My only thoughts on the subject: with cases like Lian-Li, you're not just paying for the aluminum, but also for a quality manufactured product. Anyone have any experience with a Maxtop?

Looks a little on the small side, but this case has a ton going for it including 4 bays and very open inside.

I would stay away from this one. All the metal inside looks thin and cheap. I bought something similar to this at compgeeks. It sucked and I always ended up getting cut by the case.

I've built two computers now with the evercase and I can say it is solid.

Newegg now sells the Lite-on FS020 too. Three 120mm fan mounts, some call it the best case ever made. It's a beast, but very pricey.

That's a tough case to knock for the price, people. 2 blowholes w/fans, front USB and 350W PS with those specs (Amps on 3.3V and 5V)? Maybe the edges are sharp; just don't drink a 12-pack the night before you do a build. I challege the nay-sayers to find a comparable case with these options.

Whats the top fan for? Does the PS really need that extra fan on it, I mean it not like its directly cooling anything, most PS (if you don't stick with the stock one) don't have a vent there....

The BIG disadvantage for me, is

<< 3.5" Internal x 1 >>

I mean come on, 1 internal hard drive bay? I have 4 hard drives in my current case alone what with raid and all. Sure I can mount them in the 5.25" bay slots, but I need those for other things. BTW, looking at the pics, it looks to me like its 2 internal 3.5" bays, looks like they made a typo. But anyway, my point still stands, the Ever case has 4 internal 3.5" bays. So sorry, but I'll pass. A fan on top doesn't make up for the shortage of bays sorry.

A friend of mine just recently (last weekend) built a K7S5A & Duron 1g system using this case. I felt very sturdy and seemed pretty nice overall. It has a total of 4 3.5" bays (2 hidden). I was thinking that if I didn't already have an awsome case that I wouldn't mind using that one.

I've got to say, my Ever case, looks nicer then this one, with the exception of the fan grills. the screwless system on the ever case is worth it alone...

Thanks for the post. It is interesting to see if someone can find a better case for the price than the Evercase. I don't think the Maxtop is the one, I didn't look past the power supply...

any official word yet on whether this includes an AMD approved power supply? the power supply number looks very similar to power supplies from Allied and Deer, which are listed as approved. if this has two internal 3.5 inch bays, i may end up going with this case rather than the evercase because the person i'm building for would probably like how this one looks better. any thoughts?

I have used this case many of times, I can get it (without the fans) for 45 bucks here in town, very flimsey. But good for the budget buyer who is only going to let it fill up with dust.
