ive been using my Jansport for like 6 years now, and it still looks and functions like it did when I first bought it (best $16 I ever spent). :D

yes. Actually... I forgot what it was but I think u can bring the broken bag to sportsmart (dunno if u need proof of purchase) and just give to them and they'll give u a brand new one on the spot? or was it they give u the info on how to return it... i forget.

anyways... i've also heard that if ur backpack is out of style when u return it then they will send u the newest style of ur choice.

this deal isnt hot. there I said it. it had to be said or else people would start posting 'hot deals' on all items with lifetime warranties. like my umbrella, and stapler, and knife sets... etc etc.

Anyone know the turnaround for them to send you the replacement pack? I wanna send in my Jansport cuz the strap's ripping and the shoulder foam is shedding all over my clothes and I don't feel like deal with it.

O, and are the mailer bags the sports store give you free? That'd be nice to save some postage.

the turn around time depend on where you are located. it takes anywhere from a couple weeks to 2 mths. the jansport warranty service address is

Jansport warranty service
10411 airport road
everett, WA 98204

include
1. brief description of pack problem
2. name n address for return
3. daytime phone #

as for the mailer bag, u can use the priority bag, you have to pay for shipping, but they will pay for it sending it back.

Sweet deal. I have had my bag for over ten years, and it has been getting torn apart in the last few years. Nice to know about the free replacement. I'll have to take advantage of tha tcome summertime.

Thanks! I happen to have a 15 year old Jansport that is coming apart at the seams. A new pack will come in handy since I've headed back to school to pursue a new degree. I think I'm the only bald guy on campus that's not a prof. LOL Here's a link Jansport Warranty FAQ

My Mom bought me an eastpack when i was in in 2nd grade. It has since been turned 4 or 5 times when the zipper/stitching wore out, and I have always gotten a newer bag and have even been able to request which color i want. They have never actually repaired one either, its always just a new bag. Anyhow its one of the best investments my parents ever made as i am 20 and still have a nice Eastpack.

yeah, when i was in school, i sent in my backpack because the zipper broke on me (just the end part...i could still zip/unzip) but i sent it in and asked if they could send me the same one, or one similar. i got a similar one...still same color, but just a different embriodery fabric strip. 2nd time my strap broke, so i got another one, also similar. but then my dad lost it when he went to sea world. you can get the mailing bags at campus bookstores (i went to ucsd) or even sports chalet.

so, to replace my lost backpack, i got a "north face" one....they also have lifetime warranty. so far so good. had it my last year of college. still use it today for trips. hopefully i'll be using it more when i go back to school.

Yes, when you send them back, they sent me a postcard from my backpack saying that it was happy at Jansport camp and that it was meeting a lot of other nice backpacks....

Wow, nice. I was never overly impressed by the quality of the bags, but then again they're pretty cheap.
