It's a good monitor. If it's in good condition, you can't go wrong with it for $205...

those monitors are nice. I already have one from a few years ago. built very well.

the 6-month exchange helps. if the monitor is functionally fine the first few weeks it'll pretty much stay that way. only issue might be cosmetic blemishes or something like that, which you'd spot pretty quickly.

sounds like a reall good deal. just have to figure out shipping. hmmm... very tempting. I'd like to have a second P1110 for my other pc.

How would you guys figure that this monitor would compare to IBM P260? (also 21" Trinitron) I have that one now and was wondering if it would be an upgrade to move to the P1110

Nice price.
I'm using a 21 dell trinitron I bought used from a friend, and I'm happy with it.
Didn't get it this cheap though :(

I tried ordering one from the USA and it wouldn't allow me to enter my state of residence. Gonna try and call them. I found the equivalent US site and they didn't have the same monitor, but rather a bunch of different models that I wasn't familiar with.

That 21" P1110 is a great monitor!!! I had one at work until we were broken into & robbed, mine was the only monitor stolen. They had good taste. Insurance didn't cover it and I'd like to replace it as cheaply as possible and this looks like a good deal!

What kinda insurance doesn't cover something like that? Also, what kind of thief is comfortable carrying 70 awkwardly shaped pounds? From experience helping people @ lanparties, these things are a bitch to carry.

The company's insurance policy only covered property owned or leased by the company and the monitor was my personal property. Any personal property such as my monitor, CDs, tools, etc were not covered by theft. But get this, if the place caught fire, or my property had been vandalized (as in smashed monitor), then it would have been covered. My boss is a goody goody and would not fudge the truth to get my monitor or the other employee's tools covered by the insurance. Initially he said he would replace our stolen items, but ended up reneging.

My boss was unaware of the lack of coverage the policy had for employees personal items. I believe him, but he should have known the coverages and he should have made the employees aware. Because of his ignorance regarding the policy's coverage, or lack thereof, he should have made good on replacing our personal items that were used in our daily work for him & his business.

Pisses me off!

No offense to you Toolman but your boss sounds pretty flaky. You are using your own personal equipment at the job site to make him a profit, the item gets stolen (yours only...), then your boss says he will replace it and doesn't... This doesn't sound like a very good situation. And like someone else said: what kind of thief goes for a awkwardly large and heavy monitor especially when the computers are smaller and worth alot more? Something stinks.

Anyways, that monitor is a nice deal IMO. Just beware of burnouts and distortions when you buy any used monitors. Run some VGA tests but also do some tests with your eye. Pull up a solid deep blue screen and some other colors. Look for any color distortions. Pull up a screen full of thin lines and look for any wavy distortions. Test the highest refresh rates at high resolutions.

good luck

Indeed he should have. Sounds like a turd burgler. Hmmm shouldnt your own home owners or renters insurance cover it then?

The burglars stole two company computers, the boss' and my work station and my personal monitor along with a bunch of other stuff. I was tired of doing CAD design on a 17" monitor so I had been using my Dell P1110 since it arrived FedEx. They left the book keepers old 486 and a Pentium 200. I had my Sony GDM FW900 monitor there for a few weeks also, but thankfully had brought it home.

I agree with you, he is flakey!
