Best Buy has the D-Link DI604 cable/dsl router advertised as 69.99 - 30.00 instant - 10.00 mir = $29.99 final price. At the BB in Dearborn, MI., the shelf price is stated as 29.99 - 10.00 mir = $19.99 final price. The cashiers scanned & confirmed. This may be due to yesterday's price at BB, which was 59.99, not the 69.99 advertised in the sale paper. I bought one yesterday for 59.99, and BB price-matched it for 29.99 this morning. Bought a second one for 19.99 after mir for my brother. (My first post for Hot Deals!)

Found a review from Next Gen Electronics. This one gushes over it. Don't know if it's wise to trust a review that begins 'D-Link is a fantastic company..'.Review Link

Rang up my local Bestbuy and found out they have it in stock. Don't know why it is OOS online. Rushed over and picked one up. Can't beat a deal like this. :D

Just picked one up at my local Bestbuy. They had about 7 or 8 left on the shelf. The circular that came today says its 29.99 after all the rebates but the shelf said 19.99 after the rebates too.

Just got in on this deal, website says OOS for web and pickup, but a quick call to the store showed they had about 7 left. Hooked it up to a cable modem, setup took under a minute, and went to do a speed test. Was downloading from my cable company at about 500 KB/s, a little on the slow side. Upgraded the firmware from the 1.1 version it came with to version 2.0 on their website, and speeds shot up to 1.0 MB/s! Definitely well worth the 30 bucks (it'll be an even better deal if I remember to mail in the rebate :) ).

Thanks! I don't see this advertised in the BB flyer for this week (at any price) but I went to my BB and they had a whole bunch of them at the deal price. I got one :)

As a director of MIS, I resemble that remark, young man! :p

not to blame them though, its just "red tape" that makes request take a very long time to fullfill. ;)

I stopped in and browsed this forum at about 9AM. I saw this thread and ended up stopping by the local Best Buy a little while later. They had them there on the shelf, labeled as $29.99 with $10 MIR. I had to pick one up. Thanks for the heads up MSeven20! When I went into the store I asked where the routers were and one of the staff showed me. I found the 704s first, and asked about the 604s. He pointed them out on the bottom shelf. He then noticed what price they were selling for and was really surprised; he said that he was probably going to get one, too! :)

They also had an DI-704 on the shelf selling for $60 after rebate ($80 w/ $20 MIR I think it was). The box that they had on the shelf was one that had a print server on it. I don't know if ALL DI-704's are this way though. I thought about that one but there was no information on the box about the print server and I was looking for bidirectional capabilities (if I was going to get one with a print server at all, that is). The only thing about it on the box was that it had the print server port. And the staff were unable to uncover any more information about it for me. (The guy that was helping me was actually rather helpful. Bonus points to him.) And I have heard that other routers don't support bidirectional communications, so I wasn't going to take the chance. And this one was a much better value anyway.

And for TheLoneRaven: the link you supplied to an older thread with some tips about this router doesn't seem to want to work for me. (Darn 'Page Cannot Be Displayed' error.) Do you have a different link to that thread or another source for some info?

Try removing the extra "http://" from the link.

woohoo!

thx people, I picked one up a 604 last week so 5 minutes in line = $10. Also, I snuck this into another post last week - OfficeMax has the DI-704P at some B&Ms for $49 regular shelf price (I know mine does and there are 4 or more): click me

DI-704P = $29 + tax after PM/MIR

Very nice deal. I just went and picked one up at lunch for my Dad. He blew his SMC router up by plugging his subwoofer power cord into it. :) It indeed is the one without the print server, which I like, but still great deal at this price, even if the rebate takes forever.
