can you compare what you got to this pic Here, do you have the writing in the upper right by the power connector? do you have extremely faint lines on the contacts?

Mine looks identical to yours including the lines on the contacts and writing in the corner. There's even a scuff line on the killer monster dog beast on the cooler. It's obviously been used before but I could care less as long as it runs fine. I'm about to install it now.

yep, i feel the same way. with a 3yr warranty and the fact that it is working fine i am as happy as i could be, knowng it was refurbed when i bought it

the retail ones are ~$250-$400+ for these same cards (good luck finding one of the $250 ones).

I got the card today, seems to be brand new!

The only problem I have is that it makes MUCH more fan noise than my previous card (Radeon 9700Pro). When the computer starts, during the first two seconds or so, the noise is VERY loud, then it gets lower but still loud.
I'm afraid something is not right, it "outlouds" all other fans. Can it be a faulty card?

Regarding your above overclock, I've never heard of anyone getting anything over that on stock cooling.... How fast is your rig anyways that you feel the need to OC your card? :Q

I bought 2 and both are noisy. At idle, the cards are mildly noisy and under load both are very noisy. Oh well, it works and overclocks fine.

I just got this card today. I left a note for the Fedex guy to leave it at the door. I couldn't wait to come back from my errands. I went to Costco to pick up on the TDK dvd-R 100pak buy one get one free deal. My card also had the writings near the power connectors. I am using the latest Omega drivers. I will game a little HL2 and let you know how it goes.

I am glad I got in on this sweet deal. Thanks poster.

Very nice deal for sure! Only problem with it is it's keeping me in the AGP stream for my next upgrade.

I'm building a 939 Venice Core PC & wanted a DFI board to get the most out of it. However, all of the DFI boards are PCI express.

Any recommend a good 939 board with AGP?

The best bet for S939/AGP/PCI-E upgrades is the new ULI M1695 boards. They are already out in Europe, so I would assume we will see them starting to trickle into the States in the next month or so. This would be the ONLY chipset I would consider purchasing as any of the other S939/AGP/PCI-E boards could be considered "hacks" and AGP performance suffered. The M1695 chipset has no such performance limitations.

I've been thinking the same with my new PC "in progress". I'm starting to think we may be in okay shape for the next 2 generations of video cards if we have AGP systems. There are a TON of high performance AGP systems around (and still should be ~3 years from now). It'd be a large market segment for nVidia or ATI to ignore for at least the next 2 generations of video cards.

I'm still thinking about it though....

Go with whatever suits your needs. The best thing would probably be to wait for one of those ULi-chipset boards, but you could always get a cheap AGP A64 board, or one on refurb, and then just replace your mobo on your next gfx uprgade...

I noticed the extra loud fan at bootup as well but after a couple seconds it's just as quiet as my 9700 pro was.

Where is "Display Settings"... in the catalyst control center?

I used ATITool to find the maximum stable speeds, then bumped memory and core speeds down by 10MHz each to be safe. I'm not using overdrive in that test... it would be a little higher if I did.
