Dang...would be perfect for me if it was in a cherry oak. Trying to turn my dining room that I never use into a study/library/playroom for the rugrat that is on the way. The desk that I already have is a cherry oak.

Anybody know how sturdy these bookcases are? I wouldn't want to put books up there and end up with droopy bookshelves after a year.

Queasy, these are fairly flimsy bookcases. They are perhaps a slight step up from the Walmart cheapies, but we are talking about 3/4" or even 5/8" particle board. The shelves would be fine for paperbacks, but not for long-term storage of hardbacks.

That's what I figured. They look very familiar to the bookcase I got as a hand-me-down from my brother. Serious sagging going on with that case. Have to flip the shelves every 6 months.

Thanks.

I ordered these when they were 3 for $90. 1/2" particle board, stinks like something nasty for a few days after you take one out of the box, but they appear to be sturdy enough. There is a little sagging where I have a bunch of heavy college books on a shelf.

they was so heavy carrying them to my car and then bring it in to my house...

These bookcases are crap. If you really need one (or three), do yourself a favor and invest in something long term... solid wood. If you shop around, you could probably find a nice solid oak bookshelf for $150

ah, particle board - the sausage of woods. These are ok for light duty, but don't put anything heavy or valuable
on them- Good find for the right purpose

Who is Dave Stafford of AL?

I called OM and inquired about the manufacturer and warranty. The bookcase is made by Doxey and the CSR couldn't find info on the warranty. I did come up with the 800# of Doxey and talked with some good old boy. The warranty is either 2 or 3 years with normal use. Each shelf is designed to hold up to 40 lb.

I got in on this when it was posted last year. The bookshelves are worth more than you pay for them, but don't expect great quality. They're rather flimsy, imho.

Can't find them on the site, I think they are sold out. If anyone can find them, PLMK either on here or by PM. I can get them @ B&M, but would like to use online promotion codes.
