Since I'm broke and can't take advantage of this deal, I thought I'd help out whoever might be in the market for a nice LCD monitor with my first hot deals post. If you read the terms and conditions for the rebate, it doesn't state that you have to buy from Amazon. So, final price for non-CA/NJ residents is $215!!! I added it to my cart to see how much it would be for CA, and it was $287 before the rebate, so $237 after. Still a hot deal for an excellent 17-inch LCD, as reviewed by buyers on Newegg. Enjoy!!!

It's got possibilities but the rebate does say "Corian LCD". Apparently, according to Newegg reviews, this monitor is frequently rebadged and the Amazon page says the mfr is TEAC America, so I dunno... Newegg says it's made by NESO

Looks like an awesome deal. I wonder if we can get some clarity as to if the rebate really works tho. The 2 pictures show the exact monitor down to the little red circle in upper right tho...

Reviewers are saying it's the same (or very similar) to the highly rated ADVUEU 723A 17" LCD...

model number on the manual says 729a, model number on rebate says 729a....looks good to me

I couldn't resist, I went ahead and ordered my first LCD monitor. At that price+hopefully rebate, it's too good to pass up, particularly if it has the Adveau quality.

I'm fairly new here, but am I wrong to suggest this quite possibly be one of the best 17" quality/3year warranty LCD ever? $215 AR shipped? Local computer stores have crap 15" LCDs more expensive than that!

replaceable or returnable if 8 dead pixels or more... is that common for a LCD to have that many dead pixels in the first place?

Lol znaps, you can like put them side by side..

NuNu, the 8deadpixel thing is just newegg's particular policy on LCDs.
If you read all LCD reviews (esp this one and Advueu), the quality of manufacturing seems to be top notch with the majority reporting no dead pixels.

Does anyone have any updates on whether or not the rebate will work on the monitor from newegg? My mom's monitor just crapped out and this would be too good of a deal to pass up.

Sorry, that is rubbish. DVI makes a world of difference for me, but I use good LCDs. Perhaps on cheap ones they don't have DVI because the LCD screen itself is poor. I don't know, but DVI is much better on any LCD I have used, each time taking a blind test..

Well I live in Tennessee and you need to add Tennessee to the states that have to pay sales tax with Newegg. I wish this was not so because with 9.25% it is cheaper to buy from companies who do not charge sales tax.

I bought one, and it arrived today.

It DOES have DVI, as well as the regular D sub. In addition, it has small pathetic speakers in the corner.

It has bright color, sweet resolution, and is very crisp.

The controls are rudimentary but serve their purpose.

Only problem? Mine arrived with MUCH more like 8 dead pixels. There's a huge crack in the INSIDE of the LCD, so there's a swath of green on the right side, and a band of green pixels on the left edge.

Now I guess we'll find out if Newegg will honor the policy. It's really too bad, because if it wasn't BROKEN, I'd love this monitor.
