HOT DAMN! My favorite hooch is now on the way!

Sounds too sweet. Congrats on getting what you want though. How much alcohol? What's it taste like?

Nope, not on the way.

They kept pushing back the ship date and I told them to cancel. Obviously the stuff is NOT in stock.

Bastards.

Yea, I agree, buying overpriced "hipster" liquor is a waste of time and money, just go buy a bottle of Bicardi, alcohol is alcohol and your body is going to react the same way weather it's cheap shit or not. OP should get himself "grounded" with some of this...

You could probably make your own if you can source some guavaberries. Get a bottle of decent rum, 2-3 cups of guavaberries and a little bit of sugar, toss it in a jar and let it sit for a few weeks until the rum has picked up the berry flavor. Basic infusions are one of the easiest things to do, booze-wise; just set it and forget it while it ages. There's a little trial and error involved, but once you figure out how, you can have it whenever you want.

If your only reason for drinking is to get drunk, you're doing it wrong. There's nothing wrong with getting drunk, of course, but there's also nothing wrong with wanting to enjoy the flavor of what you're consuming.

I'm pretty sure that most hipsters would not approve of guavaberry rum.

I bought some of that when I was in St. Martin.... tastes like cough syrup. That island never grew sugar cane so they have no history of rum making, and it shows in the taste. Hardly any bars used it in their cocktails.

It's not that we haven't tried it, it's just we don't tend to want to go on scavenger hunts to find our poisons.
