I went to check it out and di some research, it seems plasma in general are very bad, VERY VEYR VERY short burn in periods. EVERY SINGLE DISPLAY model of the daewood I saw which was a total of 3 had major burn in already set. I went to the best buy in Woodbridge VA, Manassas, and a Comp USA I forget if it was in woodbridge or not. I implore you to goto the store and check it out before purhcasing compare it to all the other flat screens there plasma and LCD.

Nice. Cheapest I've seen for any 42" EDTV is $2499. I'll stick with my 42" Sony Grand Vega (KF42WE610) though No burn-in! Then again, I get to replace the bulb eventually. Every technology has its downfalls.

Please become more informed before you spread these non truths. I would expect the next thing to come from your keyboard is that plasmas are bad because the plasma needs to be refilled every 3 years.

The Deawoo is not very highly rated by the members of the avsforum. If you would like more info there is a thread by someone looking to buy this panel

your right, I have only had experience with the daewoods and those are the ones I should focus my comments on, once again in all 3 stores, the display models had the burn in effect. thats why I gave specific locations so you could check for yourself. but then again how often do any of us have TVs on for 14 hours a day...

Im very happy with my sanyo Z2, never go back to regular TV's.

Yes but the resolution is not really suited for destop use. If you use anything above the native 852x480 It will have scaling artifacts and not look as good as an hd unit would.

I bought a sony GWIII or a 42we610 and it crapped out on me after a week (as have thousands of theses sets) BB tried to sell me an plasma EDTV for the same price but the picture was nothing compared to the cheapest HDTV set in the store. Ended up getting the 50" panasonic PT50LC13 and free delivery for $100 more than I paid for the 42" sony. BB was awesome getting me a tv. plus I signed up the rewards points program and have about got about $250 in cg plus the $300 gift card promotion they were running at the time.

Take note of ESPguys comments from above.

If you want EDTV (852 x 480 resolution)

852 x 480 is not going to make a great PC monitor, especially on a screen this large.

Another thing to consider are the burn-in issues that have already been mentioned. The windows task bar would be burned into the display in no time. If it were me, I'd take an apple cinema display over this for a computer monitor any day. Of course for use as a TV that's a different story. If you really want something like this for use as a computer monitor perhaps you should consider some of the 30'' widescreen LCD TVs. I believe most of them do at least 1280 x 768 and burn-in wouldn't be an issue.

Some of the newer models are suppose to to be equipped with Pixel-Orbiting technology (like the sony wega)
that helps prevent static burn in. Would get this if it wasn't DAEWOO
