I got my mem yesterday (tuesday), would've gotten it monday, but I had to be there to sign out for it and i work full time. At least I got it! =o)

Yeah, Crucial might be out of stock, and a note about the online tracking: IT'S NOT ACCURATE. As far as I could tell, the Delivery Date was just the date they garauntee you get your shipment by (mine was for the 9th, but it got delivered on the 5th). Even the CSR neglected to tell me when I called from work on the 5th that it was already shipped and I should get it today. He just said I'd get it sometime between tuesday and friday.

Apparently they DO have next day shipping.

Firstly ... many thanks to H1ghlander! This was a first experience for me. I ordered the stick on 2/4 then used the on-line PM. A few hours later I received an e-mail stating that they could not PM on this till Monday - supposedly a special crew researched this and they don't work weekends. ?? OK, I let it ride, but when I received no word on the PM by Tuesday I fired off another e-mail. Again a couple of hours later I received a reply stating that the order was processed and I should see delivery by Friday - now mention if the PM was applied. So, I banged out another e-mail asking if the PM was honored - another reply in less than 2 hours stating that 'no PM was applied'. OK ... I e-mailed back and stated I would refuse delivery and expect a refund on the order - silence till 2/6. A CSR named Jennifer e-mailed and asked if I could fax the page from Crucial that contained their price - this seemed a little wierd since I have cut-'n-pasted all the data into the PM form, but OK ... I'll play along. I faxed the page off and e-mailed Jennifer that when I started on this crusade the Crucial price was $103.69 and the page I was faxing to her quoted a price of $109 and change - I'd would appreciate the original price applied. This morning jennifer called me! She stated she couldn't get into the Crucial site to verify thats why she had me fax the page in - the site worked OK for me when I printed the page out. She honored the PM and at the original Crucial price. I ended up with the deal after tax at $87. Not to shabby but a lot of run around.

Can anyone give me the SKU# for the Crucial RAM at Staples? I cannot find it. Can I get this RAM at my local store?

I pricematched at Staples the day the RAM went to $109. Can I call back and get my order changed to the $103 price? How does that work?

O.K. just placed order for a total 79.79 + tax = 85.38 (free shipping becasue Staples honor Crucial's free Shipping!) For those who got turned away by the CSR, just hang up and call again and be polite to the CSR and eventually one will do price match.. How long did you guys/gals waited for shipping becasue the CSR told me that it will be sent by a "third party" vendor, therefor, they stated it'll be sent tomorrow, but they don't know how long it'll take except somewhere within 5 days....

Staples part# 102235 or IM1415517 (different CSR ask for different part #)
Good luck!

I called on last Saturday and the first CSR said "it is not possible to price match on the weekend, 'cause we cannot see the actual manufacturer's product id (I think that is bull). I called again and got one nice guy, who asked me how to find the price info on the Crucial's web site. I explained what that Code meant and how Staples defined that on the title

Staples Desc : Crucial Technology 32x64-7.5 256MB
Synchronous PC133 168pin 3.3V 133MHz Dimm
Crucial Code : CT32M64S4D75

Crucial Technology CT
32x64 32M64
Synchronous S
256MB 4 (4*64 = 256)
D Delay
75 7.5ns

then I got delivered for $84.58 and I received this afternoon. and it is running at CL 2/2/2
Thanks again for the post.

I am not that qulified to answer your question. In your bios setting if you go to chipset features you find settings like

SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay 2/3
SDRAM RAS Precharge time 2/3
SDRAM CAS latency time 2/3

Select 2 2 2,run some applications and see if the system is stable.
Over clocking memory is normally OC-ing FSB or if your motherboard supports you can over clock memory with out messing with PCI clock. Again I am not good at this....????....????

Some times I think I understand everything -
then I regain conciousness.

Ok, i'm done dealing with the overclocking, thanks for the help, i got my CL3 to run at CL2 and so far so good! I've run Unreal Tournament, 3D Studio MAX R3, and Adobe Photoshop 5 without a hitch. Oh, I should also mention that this newbie just overclocked his PII400 to PII 447, small victory for me, at least now I know my pc can take a 47mhz boost! :)

thanks for all your help.

I just got an e-mail saying they couldn't pricematch it because they were out of stock. Has anyone else had this problem doing a PM by e-mail? Do I actually have to talk to another human being?

update:

Wow, I talked to Shanna. She sounded pretty hot, I think she was flirting with me. ;) She PM'ed it no problem.

124.48 - 38.10 credit = $86.38 awesome.

Pricematching it on the phone took was soo much easier. don't do it by email. email bad. email very bad.

I placed an order with PM and Coupon on Feb 1, and three days later, I found out that the order status was SHIPPED but the scheduled delivery was on Feb 8. I haven't receive any Fu....ram. I called stu..Staples, and to ask for my tracking number, but they didn't have it because that's a special order from other warehouse. Until today Feb 9, I still don't have that ram from the fu...Staples...they asked me to call back today to check it out. Stup..Staples...if they lie...make it better...

Do it by phone and be nice to the CSR and keep trying.
Placed order on 2/7 for 85.38 including S&H and received it today 2/9!!

Don't let the CSR bullsh*t you into trying to PM Crucial's CL2s becasue they carry CL3s!! Bastards almost got me...

Out of 4 different deals with Staples.com I have NEVER gotten the deal as posted. EVER. My luck with Staples stinks. I struck out on 2 digital camera deals, a fax deal, and now the memory deal. The csr tonight told me that I had to use a staple credit card to use the $30 off $100 code because that is who this code is intended for. I probably got flagged has someone trying to get deals by the first csr and I get the treatment every time now. Needless to say I didn't order.

You dont TELL them you got it from a website...say email...

I just ordered one, with no problems, the CSR's involved were really helpfull.

PM'd to $103 (free shipping not a hassle)
and then $30off$100

So, $73 and change, will get it the 19th they say.

It will go great with the 128 PC133 Kingston Value ram ($30 deal) stick I just got.

I just ordered mine from staples.com a few minutes ago. nice CSR. they let me walk them through the crucial site to get to the $103.69 price and they even remembered that they saw "free shipping" on one of the earlier screens so I didn't even get charged for shipping. I gave them the $30 off $100 coupon code too and they just put it in without any questions. very friendly and helpful. total order plus tax was $79.59 shipped! :D

make sure you tell them to go through crucial.com/webpromo so you can get the $103.69 price or you'll end up at $109.79 instead.

Is there anything we can do now that the crucial price via the webpromo entrance is now just $88? I got my RAM today and it would be nice to save another $20 on it.
