Will this work with the Dell Dimension 4550 (p4 2.4, 533 mhz fsb)? I know that Ram is very finicky... According to dell this is what will work for the machine:

512 MB Module for a Dell Dimension 4550 (533 MHz Front Side Bus) 512 MB DDR SDRAM, PC2700, Non-Parity, Unbuffered

but cnetpc doesnt answer all those specs. They just say:

Micron 512MB DDR PC2700 333Mhz FSB 6 Layer PCB (OEM) Lifetime Warranty.

Really want a 512 piece. Help! Thanks!

It should work without problems.

Just to give a update to you all here. I ordered from CNETPC last week and also
I did recieve not one but two sticks of Crucial PC2700. I was shocked !

They are runnin bad @$$ in my A7N8X.

Might Order another one at this price.

Hey guys I just got my stick today that I ordered on the 6th of this month.

I am going to call them and bitch, they did put this through until the 18th.
I want a adjustment in price because I paid little over 70$ which included shipping

the product is good but the service is locking.

SEBZX79: Did the product have Crucial stickers and the correct Crucial part numbers or is it just plain old Micron oem like the description on their web site? I ordered 2 sticks and really hope that it's genuine Crucial PC2700 and not crucial/micron on 3rd party PCB.

What mobo can take 3 of these?
Now, I have K7S5a and feel like upgrade.

Any suggestions?

Thanks😉

I am gonna take the plunge and get one of these.

Edit: nevermind. It says that there are no refunds so I will only get store credit if its bad or something.

Are you saying that the memory has Crucial logo's and part numbers or are you saying the memory chips are identical to what Crucial sells?

It's Crucial. It has Crucial stickers and a Crucial Part number. I've got another stick of pc2700 I bought direct from Crucial about 2 months ago and it's identical.

Right now I'm running it as 185fsb at cas2 and it's stable..so far at least

Cas 2?? as in 222 5 1t??

this is what is on the ram

I bet you prices for this will drop to $55 in the not so distant future... and I think that's where it'll bottom out... at least for this wave of price drops...

Even so, I think spending $63 for 512 megs is a great deal in itself. If it drops another 8 bucks or so, great for everyone, if not, I'm happy I bought it when I did 🙂

It will work, but it just won't go the full potential of your 4550. I have the same problem, I need 533 FSB memory.

The part number provided in another post (ct6464z335) matches up spec wise with the Crucial recommended for the Dell 4550 FSB 533. I think that this site might have had a typo.

I think that's a quad-pumped bus, meaning it should use at least pc2100 (133mhz x 4 = 533mhz bus). This pc2700 is more than enough for you, and could satisfy a quad pumped bus of 667mhz, according to its specifications.

BTW this is a great deal!

Just a quick question, Is there any sort of way that Dell can tell that you have opened up the unit to install new RAM. I.E. Will adding ram void my warranty (if I remove it before sending it in for warranty service).

Megatron: No not that I remember I didn't have any void if removed stickers on the last dell I opened. you should be fine.
