I have heat problems with my 2.8G P4 prescott which tends to hover around 50 deg. C, but when I have any graphics intensive games it spikes up to ~58-60 C. I've got 3 case fans and an OCZ CPU fan but I know the prescott CPU runs hot. Any ideas about a better CPU fan or how I can cool thing off?

Thanks,
Crelm

well, you can just get a better hsf, like an xp-90. or get some better case airflow.

My 2.8 prescott ran at around 60c under load as well, thats a normal temp for that CPU, and nothing to worry about. If it was at 70c then I'd be worried, thats when it will throttle.

I only really noticed the heat problems when playing high graphics racing games (NFS UG2, etc.). It would lock up and motherboard monitor would have it at ~55-57 C. Everything would be incredibly crippled and slow. Perhaps though it could be that I only have a Nvidia GTS pro with 32 meg Vram... I thought I read that it's best to overclock the Prescott but I don't know why.

Can you even run that game with that video card?
