hot cpu

I have a Barton 2500+ running at stock speeds with an slk-800, arctic silver 5 (applied correctly) and a 22 cfm fan on top. My case temps are around 27-28 but my cpu tems are around 50-52 idle and up to 60 load. I've heard people saying that temps like these aren't the end of the world, but I would like them a little cooler. My +3.3 rail on my psu is running at 2.6 (talking to antec about rma) could that have anything to do with the problem? any other suggestions?

What motherboard are you running? What are you using to check your temps? Are you 100% sure you have the heatsink seated correctly? I know that seems like a stupid question, but you'd be surprised at how many people can't get it mounted flush.

Another though...22 cfm is not a whole lot of air. Might want to think about a beefier fan if you don't mind a little more noise.

yeah I want to get a panaflo 92mm L1A but I'm not sure it'll fit on an slk-800. Im running an Epox 8rda3+ mobo and motherboard monitor to check my temps. The heatsink is seated correctly, im sure of it.

Check your PSU voltages with a voltmeter. Monitoring software is not necessarily accurate. I also have some tips for Thermalright owners in particular, if your Thermalright is the clip-down type instead of bolt-down... go here for the general SocketA guide I made, and by the third picture there's a link to the Thermalright-specific photos & tips.
