I don't see why it wouldn't. It worked fine in 4700's and 5150's, as well as all other DDR2 Dell desktops. I just haven't tried it yet in a 5100.

That will probably cause prices to rise. I think it's so cheap because of over-production. AMD-based systems have increased in marketshare over Intel the past few months.
