In this weeks Staples ad they have the compaq fs740 flat screen (sku 474800)crt for 149.99 after instant and MIR.. the ad is a typo though because it is no longer 399.98 its 349.98.. with a 100 instant and 150 MIR from compaq.. so heres how it works out

349.98
-100 Instant
-150 MIR
-40 off of 200 coupon if you have one
---------------------------
= 60 bucks for a decent 17 inch montior

UPDATE..even hotter

PM to compuvest.com.. for 295

PM to compuvent.com = 295
-100 Instant
-150 MIR
-30 or possibly 40 coupon
------------------------------
= approx 5 dollars or 15

Can you use a $$ off coupon when an "instant" rebate is involved? My 30 off 150 coupon i got in the mail says you can't use it if the item has any kind of "instant" off....or something like that, as i recall (it's in my car and i don't want to go out!). I've use the $$ off coupons before in staples when there was a sale or mir item, but i'm not sure if it can be used when there is an "instant" $$ off. Anyone know for sure?

TaserT.. here is the fine line

Limit one per customer, nontransferable. Minimum purchase requirement of $200.00 must be met with purchases to which no other coupon or instant savings offer applies.

so I guess you have to add$5 to make it $200.00 after the instant rebate to make the requirement.. am I right?

AnimeKnight.....if you CAN use the 40 off your purchase would still be over $200 (you wouldn't count the mir). But i'm still not clear on if any $$ off coupon can be used since it says "...to which no other coupon or instant savings offer applies. " Since there is an instat $100 off i'm wondering if there will be a problem there. I'm not sure i want to drive 30 miles and be turned down! I wonder if this can be done online somehow? There would be free shipping if you can. I couldn't find the rebate form at the staples online rebate section either.

staples B&M has the 150 compaq MIR in store..its on a gray slip.. the 100 dollar instant rebate is a manual coupon code that we have to enter into the register.. its something like 26011.. i will find out exactly what it is tonight when i go into work..... you shouldnt have a problem using the coupon.. i know we never turn people down

Please strongly consider the rebates (the chance of getting them in a timely manner) when making your buying decision. I currently have a $150 Compaq rebate outstanding from last year. Will I see it ... we'll see. Theses days I strongly believe that rebates are a crapshoot at best. Most of the "hot" deals I see here involve one or more rebates which must be mailed. After waiting 8 or 12 or many more weeks comes the chore of nagging and nagging and nagging the fulfillment company to pay out. It's not worht t to me anymore. Whenever I see a "hot" deal that involves a rebate I ask myself whether it would still be considered a deal if I never saw the rebate (which is a strong possibility these days).

yeah rebates can sometimes be a crapshot... i recommend just copying all the UPC's/ reciepts and that way if you never get your rebate back, you can take it to Staples B&M and ask a manager to take care of it.... we do it on a daily basis almost, and in most cases they will just give you the difference back

I went to Staples, Price is still at checkout $349.99, where did you see $100 IR, They need phisical proof for that $100 IR because if I know that instant $100 code then they need physical proof to validate that code (they won't enter the code by just telling them). I dont see that $100 IR on staples flyer for this week either. Can anybody finds that how to tell staples people about $100 IR OR How to get this deal, I would apply $30off$150 coupon because there is no $40off one.
😕

its in page 4 of this weeks ad... see where it says 149.99 compaq monitor in red print.... heres the link on staples.com..... you cant make out the print though Link ...... its listed in the ad as 399.98-100instant-150MIR= 149.98...

okay... after looking at the ad i think it's for desktop pc package.. if you look at the print just above the compaq monitor it says .. $100 off any desktop pc package. Also where is your MIR??? do you have the link to it?

heres the deal...... its a 100 INSTANT savings.. no need to buy the pc.... that brings it down to 249.98 out the door.. or less if you use the coupon... then theres a 150 MIR from compaq which can be found at any staples B&M.. its on a gray piece of paper.. this deal is not dead to the best of my knowledge because the 100 off the above poster was refering to is not the same as the 100 instant show in the red box..

I've spoken to a Staples CSR Supervisor on the phone before who said it is a new policy this year for them to not count the purchase price of an item that has an instant rebate toward a coupon minimum amount. The entire amount of the item, not just the savings part. Obviously your luck may vary but it will come to an end soon as more CSRs learn the policy.

Different area's have different ad's, the two Staples I go to are in different districts and have different ad's even though they are just about 20 miles apart, and neither one has the ad with the Compaq monitor deal ??😕?? So there are at least three different ad's.

Had to work on the manager but, $15 + tax = $24.94 Total after $150 compaq rebate
I brought in a copy of compuvest website, and the manager said the new policy of staples was not to pricematch if the item was in stock at said internet store ?!? But he would do it this time.......

Also had to make a second trip to bring in a printable coupon 30 off 150, couldn't find a 40 off 200

It IS listed in the add. Look in the top left box with the $849 comp. deal
Now read the red outlined box (monitor not included in package)

And as a side note CC has these monitors in stock for $299 with the $150 compaq rebate sitting right beside the monitor at B&M
