Madthumbs, I'm not trying to start a flame war, I just mentioned that I found it to be offensive. Surely I should also be allowed to represent how I feel. Also, were these comments racial slurs many more people would have jumped in complaining about it. Techies and the tech inudstry have a reputation as being biased against women, and posts such as these only serve to reenforce that image.
I don't expect to change anyone's mind, I'm just asking everyone to be more sensitive. This isn't a frat house or an all male dormitory. Men and women should be trated with equal respect.

Sorry for jumping on you like that. I feel the same way about racist comments, though I could be wrong. If people were to express themselves about the issue we would know who our freinds are, and who lacks wisdom. We would be able to discuss issues more openly. You certainly have the right to be offended and react accordingly. Sorry that I mistook it for an attack on the their ability to express.

I downloaded it for a neighbour and was about to copy it to a CD-RW to bring it to him. That stupid thing just popped its install window when I moused over it on my active desktop. I read the agreement and this is real spyware at its best. I off course said cancel and it did not install the plugin but it still installed the spyware and auto-update. I could not delete or uninstall while the auto-update was working (file in use crap). I had to open the window and go disable it first. Then I uninstalled the beejeebies out of it.
Damn spyware self-installing even when you say no is like a frigging virus in my opinion. :|
I warned my friend but he still wanted it.
I bet AOL had input in that program from hell.

Sir Fredrick, I don't mean to be rude, but can you at least practice what you preach? I take offense to the above statement. If you laugh and say "oh, the frat d!ck is upset" then you are using the same biases and insensitivity which you claim to abhor. I assure you that men and women were treated with equal respect in my fraternity. No, women were not allowed to be members, but around the house itself women were NOT disrespected or objectified by the fraternity.
Whatever negative views you may have come to possess of fraternities (and I am sure many individual chapters unfortunately live up to those views) please realize that there are many outstanding fraternity members and chapters out there that you do not need to denigrate with your stereotyping.
I wish I didn't always have to defend fraternities on these boards.
