I recieved my second one today.
The display is different (the words are bigger/bolder), and it puts out a much stronger signal.
Weird.

I should elaborate - The signal when tuned to a station didn't fade or crackle as much, so the clarity was better. (Loudness isn't an issue for me since I'm amped.)
The casing looks the same, so you can't tell unless they are on.
I'll get pics later.
I would assume that you wouldn't know which you'd get and it would be luck of the draw.

Should I be concerned?

Yes. Both of my orders got a shipment email within 5 days of order. It wouldn't hurt to checkup with cs.

That is a good question. I think the player might get confused if you have your MP3 player hooked out to both the line IN, and the USB ports, though. Still, worth someone trying this out.

I think the easiest way to use this unit is to just put your music on an SD card or USB flash drive, but it would be coll if you could use the Line-in and play music from your own MP3 player, and use the USB port to keep it charged up.

In for one, btw

It does not provide a charge on the USB port.

Ordered one on the 19th, arrived yesterday.

I can't complain at all for $10 shipped. I bought it for my work vehicle which doesn't even have a CD player. Works great for me. The play options are not that great, but for $10 you can't expect much.

The sound quality is barely ok, most who had a chance to hear it have said it sounds more like an AM station.

I wish they had a better/sturdier cable for line-in (which seems to be of non-standard size on the transmitter side), in fact that might have been a factor in ho-hum quality of sound.

again, not much can be said for a whopping total of $10 shipped.

Anyone had the unit stop working after trying to use a USB drive? I got two, one for the wife and one for me. I used an SD and a USB in mine and it worked fine. My wife tried her's with a 64meg freeby USB she got at a conference and it won't start up now. I tried it in mine and it toasted mine too. Strange. Units just show the display back light and nothing else.

I ordered two of these, one for each vehicle, and they are utter, absolute garbage. I don't care how cheap they are, they're not worth it.

I purchased them specifically for my Zune, and you have to turn the volume to max (16 I believe) on the device, THEN turn the volume up about 4 times higher than normal on the receiver just to hear anything. And most of what I heard was interference. On my particular receiver the volume was up to over 40, and 10 is where it needs to be for the regular radio to be loud.

Oh, if anybody still wants some, I'll sell you two for $10...

With my Nano at 2/3 volume, I get equivalent loudness of playing off SD and USB drive. MP3 transmitter is set at 9. I only need to have the car stereo (Toyota factory unit) to 1/3 for comfortable volume. Sound is clean with no noise typically associated with FM transmitter type units. Maybe your Zune is volume limited to lower level output?

Mine is working OK with 4 GB SD card (I've been using it about 5 days). There is a little fuzz through the radio, but no more than I've ever heard with FM transmitter systems. Overall, I'm happy with the device - worth every penny so far. The remote is handy to have around as well.

Got mine last week and got everything setup just fine. Sounds great, although I have to push the volume up to 2/3 max on car stereo to have adequate noise level. Totally static free, and I've already been two hours from home through three different cities with no issues.

Anyone know if SDHC cards will work with these players? I'm using a 2GB Kingston SD right now but would like to get a 4-8GB card so I can copy the rest of my CD library and have all my tunes along for the ride, without having to swap memory cards.

I've been using mine for two weeks now. I tried both inserting an SD card and using the included headphone jack cable to hook up to my portable MP3 player.

Pros:
The FM signal is quite strong, and will even override some of the FM stations around here. I have absolutely no problems getting a signal from this device, unlike a Phillips FM transmitter that this unit is replacing.

Playing MP3's from an SD card is easy.

Cons:
I didn't get any kind of real instruction manual.

The broadcast is band limited (i.e. the sound is somewhat dull - no highs or lows).

The included headphone jack cable is not working properly. I have to jiggle it to get it to work, which I assume means that there is a loose connection somewhere.

I have noticed that if I plug in an SD card, then plug in the FM Transmitter into the lighter jack, that it will start playing automatically. This is only a problem if I want to listen to my portable MP3 player. I have to manually hit the "Stop" button on the FM Transmitter, or I get both sources at once. Also, the volume output becomes very low. Once I removed the SD card, and then re-plugged in the FM transmitter. my volume problems went away.

I don't think there's any way to make a playlist on an SD card.

There isn't any kind of "FCC-compliant" writing on the device. I think maybe this is why the FM signal is so strong.

Overall though, I really like this device.

Jokersmoker, you're back! Been wondering about you recently. You were missed!

Edit:
In for one at $8.41. Thanks JS!

Should be a lot easier to use than the contraption I have now for my car. It's a cassette type thing that you shove in the cassette slot and plug the other end into the headphone jack of your player. I never use it, just too much trouble. 'course I hardly ever drive. But when I do I usually want music. :music: :music: :music:

I got one and really like it. For the price it works very well. Loaded up a 2gb card and plug it in and it goes. The fm signal is quite good. I have not experienced any issues with clicking or bad sound quality (though I'm not an audiophile in the least and my wife's Grand Am does not have a great sound system). My biggest complaint about the unit is the lcd. It's just too small to be of much use. Overall, though, well worth $10.

I saw some posts at the vendor's site, one in particular declaring that some sound great, others crappy (think he said he bought 20), so it looks like there's a big luck factor here. Fingers crossed.

My included patch cord (headphone to headphone jacks) finally died. I don't think it ever really worked properly.

OTOH, the FM transmitter itself is still working fine. The screen really is useless unless your cigarette lighter jack is inches from your face. Pretty good for under $10.

I've ordered a total of six. Two then four. Ended up returning 4 becuase of defects. Bad quality control. Way too many defective units getting out of the factory. Good idea but bad production quality.

Uh, I think it does. It's mind boggling whatall it does have considering it's shipped from Asia and all for under $9. Don't know if the deal's still on and haven't used mine yet (I'm checking out this thread before doing anything with it). Included is a short cable with a miniplug on both ends and I presume that means it does support "aux-in." The instructions show how you can hook up another MP3 player to it. OK, I suppose it won't support line-in, or maybe it does, don't know. Actually, I suppose that cable means it does support line-in precisely. Also has slots for USB flash drive (i.e. MP3 plays from one), and SD card (same thing). Hope mine works. The instructions make no mention of the included remote control, and I have to assume they think it's self explanatory. Man, it's loaded with features. People say here that the QC is really awful, though, so I'll have to see what works and doesn't.

Problem for me, really, is that I don't use my cars much! :)
