Been there, done that, with all the reviews, that's why I picked the S820. I am sure the i850 is a great printer, but even if it is proven that 4 colors are as good as 6, which one do you think will run out of ink faster? The i850 puts smaller droplets on the paper. Which print head is more likely to clog quicker?
Regarding the Canon rebate. Last year I bought a pair of Canon 10x30 IS binoculars. They had a rebate on them. This rebate expired, but Canon started another of the same value the next month. You can just call them and they will tell you if the rebate will be extended on this printer.
