Even if you have a 3 pin tail, it won't monitor RPMs, unless these are different fans. I have a 3 pin tail that I bought because I thought that's all they needed. Apparently Panasonic saves money by having 3 pins on all of them, but they only "activate" the sensor on some fans.

This isn't an issue on case fans though, which makes this deal ideal. I only bother with RPM monitoring for the processor heatsink. And I ordered two! 🙂

I ordered mine on March 23rd and mine will not get here until April 1. To make things worse, UPS tracking shows that it's in the last city before it gets on the truck for delivery and it's just sitting there. It could have been delivered today but they want to make it get here on the day the tracking page specifies.

With FedEX, my packages are always on my doorstep a day earlier than specified on their tracking page.

Their customer service/ordering department was awesome. I just ordered 15 of them. I asked him to verify they were the L1A's and he said they were actually L1J's. I felt like they're still panaflo L1's and you guys are having luck with them so I went ahead and ordered. He said they sold about 10,000 of these recently and their stock is at good levels 🙂

Almost ALL Panaflo fans have rpm monitoring built in, it is simply the tails that determine whether or not you can use it. There used to be a site that sold the 3pin tails, but I cant find it for the life of me...

Try these guys:

I bought 3 Panaflo fans from BGMicro and they arrived super fast. I installed them in my case, replacing the 3 Delta's I had in there. They are noticably quieter, but don't expect silence. Meanwhile, the temp of my case and cpu has increased by 1C on average.

Worth the effort/expense? Probably not.
