Umm . . .you expect a $40 raid card to do raid 5? Umm . . . yea . . . and I want my $20 computer speakers to pump out 800W RMS.
 
well.....ummm.....with the HOT deals i find here at AT i may just as well expect to find a $40 card that does raid 5....yeah...hmmm....ummm....oh, and (here's a $10 speakers set that does 580 WATTS! (pmpo - hahaha)

haha- point well taken. I guess I actually wouldn't be too surprised to see a card that handles RAID 5 for $40 (w/in the next 10 years or so). 😉
 
I gave in and bought one, the price got reduced to 37.00 - 10% coupon, + $5 shipping = 38.30 shipped not bad at all.

I LOVE this note: Please Note : * PMPO (Peak Music Power Output) is an unreliable indicator of true (RMS) wattage, so take this rating with a grain of salt
 
I bought this P.O.S. .........I have tried and tried to get it to work. It doesn't come with the software!!!! Can't seem to find anything on the web to help figure out what is wrong. Everything installed fine and easy. Dam thing just wont boot!!!

 
There is actually a retail version of this...click on controllers and the pciata133-nb,
apparently they said NB mean NEW BOX
and the only other difference is the two lines they deleted under specs for the NB version.
"32-bit PCI Interface & Supports RAID 0, 1, and 0+1"
I am not concern about the 32-bit PCI Interface line...but I do have some concern about supports RAID line...what do you guys think?

Anyone have links on how to set-up RAID on Win XP?

I have two 40Gb Barracudas from Dell. One is already loaded with Win XP Pro. Do I have to load anything on the second drive?

If you care a single bit about your data, buy a reputable IDE RAID controller.

If you decide to create a stripe array with this card, put some data on it and then the array information disappears, your data is irrecoverable.
 
this won't mess up my gigs of pr0n will it. I really need fast access to this stuff but I do not want any feet showing where the head should be!!!!! Data integrity is a must!!!
 
to respond to two prior posts... computergeeks has been around for a while, and they are a very trustworthy company. i'm surprised you haven't seen other posts of their deals here.

second, regarding rms and pmpo... solo knew the difference, and was making a joke... 😀
