After PM and rebate, Staples will pay me money to get this drive. I already received the rebate for the last time. :)

It is working well for my new computer.

I'm going to Staples at lunch to attempt the following:

Artec PM to $25, then PM their SanDisk 128 SD card (at $70) down to $65 (Amazon, i think it was), buy two of them (my friend and I both got in on the Toshiba e310 deal), use $30 off $150 coupon, leaves me with a DVD-ROM for $5 AR and a SD card for $55.

<crosses fingers>

BTW, the rebate's still on Staples' site....

Thanks for the Head's up.

I went to a local Staples and the guy couldn't believe it, he called the website and they said that they had em in stock and apparently there was not mention as to whether or not they were refurbs.

He PM'ed $22 plus $5 for shipping, total came to $24 and they printed out the rebate form at the checkout or you can go online to staplesrebates.com and enter it in there and just send in the receipt and UPC.

Installed it last nite and looks like it works. Comes with PowerDVD software, I'll have to get a DVD tonight and see if it runs.

Thanks Tung for the tip!:D

Another great deal from AT (Now I just have to wait and see if the rebate comes thru!)

I went to Staples yesterday to try this, and it seems that all the managers around here actually care about their work, since no one would let me PM it. bastages.

So who wants to sell me one for however much they paid? :)

I got fully shutdown on this deal so I got some free Dr. Grip pens with the discount code 5FNGR....

...just kidding about the pens.

Lowest they would go was $53 and no coupons on top of that. Bummer.

Just my 2 cents..... You guys who are having problems getting a PM w/ a RETAIL BOX DVD...you might wanna ask the Manager for the name and phone # of his supervisor as well as why he/she feels they have a right to circumvent Staples Company PM policy.

The people at Staples are using a shipping loophole to claim they pricematch. They now sell the drive on Googlegear for $38 with free shipping and Staples sells the drive for $69.94 with free shipping and yet the saleman at Staples are trying to tell me that they are cheaper. There must be alot of people at Staples who think the general public is not very intelligent.:)

It worked great for me I pricematched at the 22.00 and they even gave me the 110% guarantee. Price out the door including tax was 18.08 - $20rebate = $1.92 for me! This was B&M by the way.:)

The Staples on Santa Monica Blvd.and Vermont (near Los Feliz) PMed it at $22. I first tried at the Empire Center Staples in Burbank, but got shut down. Almost drove to Alhambra to hit that Staples. Glad I didn't. If you're gonna do this, today is the last day to get it with the rebate. But even if you can't get it til later, I would think at $22 it stilll wouldn't be a bad deal. Good luck.

Went to my local Staples today, and PMed 2 of these to nexthardwareshop. Added the clearance Magellan GPS for Palm III and used my $10 off $40, and walked out the door with these three items for $35 including tax!!!!

$5 in my pocket to buy 2 plus the GPS!!

Passed by my nearest Staples (Borbonais, IL) to PM w/ nexthardwareshop. Had a sales associate open the glass cage and bring out 2 of them. Went to the register and before cashier rung up, I told him I wanted a pricematch and showed the printout from the website. Sales Manager went to back room to verify the price (5 minutes). He came out with a Pricematch form and other paperwork. Here is how it was PMed.

Original Price------------------------------- 79.98 (Currently on sale for $69.99 - $20 MIR)
PM price--------------------------------------22.00
Difference + 110% Price Guarantee----63.78. So 79.98-22.00=57.98+10%=63.78. Then 79.98-63.78=16.20
PMed Cost-----------------------------------16.20
Shipping---------------------------------------7.95
Final cost PMed + shipping---------------24.15

Total for 2 16XDVD + 6.25% tax---------50.33. Showed him my printed $10 off $40 coupon, but he would not accept it. Did not want to push my luck. So I said thanks.

OK, got them to ring it up on one receipt (my stupid mistake). No rebate form printed out and I couldn't find any in the store. Would it still be possible to get the $20 MIR for each. I'll mail them from two separate home addresses. Thanks to Tung for this "hot deal" post..... :D

Update

Looks like rebate form mentions purchase of this drive in Staples if only from August 18 to 24. Strange thing is they still had the sign on the glass cage mentioning the $20 rebate. Looks like I'm out of luck, not bad $25.17 each though. :frown:
