*HOT* Arctic silencers on clearance at SVC.com $9.99 each

Will ATI Silencer 2 fit an AIW 9600 Pro?
It says it will fit 9600 series (non pro, pro, xt) but nothing about AIW.
On newegg, there's one reviewer who said it doesn't fit the AIW 9600 SE.

What about an Evga 6600gt agp? I can't remember whether these will work out or not. Something about ramsick clearence maybe?

Edit, now that I think about it(should have done that first) I think it's the Zalman cooler.

Pretty sure you would need the ATI silencer 1 on that one

Dont think any of them will fit an AGP 6600gt as its chip is usually rotated 45 degrees and has a bridge chip that it wouldnt touch to cool.

Note, these are all Revision 1 units. Not that it really matters, I'm sure. But, just so you know..

Got one to make my C3D X800GTO quieter while OC'd. The Rev 2 makes better ram contact. My card has 2.0 nanosec ram crap anyway

Can you post your idle/load temp using your silencer?

thanks

Arctic Silencers are not made to fit any ATI AIW series of cards the last time I checked. Here is a link to the ATI Silencer 2 cooler that is used on the ATI 9600 pro and 9600 XT cards. Note that it is not listed for the AIW card.

http://www.arctic-cooling.com/vga2.php?idx=64&data=1&disc=

A note here about the fit of these coolers on the cards. Most card manufactures will vary the card design and/or compontent used on the cards. Some modifications to the cooler may be required to make it fit the card you are trying to mount it on. I had to grind out three spots on this cooler to make it fit my card because of taller capacitors that the card manufacturer used were in the way of the cooler. Check the fit of the cooler and modify as needed for your card.

The baseplates. Rev. 1 had a problem where the interface to the GPU was elevated. The problem was that it was rounded so it didn't make that great a contact with the entire chip. Along the sides you could slip a piece of paper between the GPU and the heatsink. So Rev. 2 is absolutely flat. Much better contact.

Having said that, Rev. 1 still performed very well. Techpowerup has reviews of Rev. 1 and Rev. 2 with all the differences.

What's different about Rev 1 & 2?

the ati 4 rev 1 has a slight clicking sound, that was later fixed with the next revision, it really annoys the hell outta me, so beware if you have a quiet system or room, you will probably notice it

wow, I would just like to say, you might want to check the other clearance items too- a lot of those cables, fan controllers, and a thermaltake 480w psu, that has the front panel for fan controllers- are really hot. The cpu's are expensive, and I don't know about the motorcycles (motorcycles? wtf?), but those clearance items are cheap. Just ordered a bunch of stuff, and shipping was only $10
