I own 3 Ipod refurbs all showed up no dings or dents! Carry same warranty as a new unit... and they all still work just fine. Oldest is almost 3.5 years old and works as good as it did the day I bought it!

pretty good deals, stupid question can an ipod be used as an external hard drive to save any file types.

Im thinkin of snaggin one meself :)

I have the 60GB in black. Love it! I use it mostly on plane rides. I picked the black for contrast with the colors on the screen and to frame the video, of sorts.

Just my $0.02

Yes, you can use the iPod to store data on it as well. Makes for a nice, quick and easy backup of important documents you may be working on away from home. :)

I got a black 5g 30GB Video for myself and a white 4GB Nano for my wife. These units come looking brand new with stickers and everything as well as brand new housing. They also come with the full warranty.

I would jump on this as it's better than buying new IMO. It's tested, cheaper and comes with the same warranty.

Unless you REALLY need the space, the new video Ipods aren't worth the extra price. The screen brightness is overkill and the battery time isn't improved as the new firmware enhanced battery on all units.

Ordered black a day or 2 before they took it off, I have to wait an extra week for mine now. =( After they had originally promised me I'd get it this week or next, now I gotta wait til week after that. I had already set up what i was gonna upload to it and everything. =/

Still seems like a sweet deal though, refurbed straight from the company, can't go wrong.

5th gen was released in Oct. 2005.

The 5th gen was recently updated with mainly a few new software features (most of which can be updated on any 5th gen iPod). I would call it a 5.5 gen iPod, for lack of a better term.

I've seen one report that the longer battery life for video playback can be accomplished by a software update for existing 5th gen iPods, but haven't seen any confirmation/proof of that yet.

Incidentally, a similar thing happened with the 4th gen iPod (Click Wheel). It was re-released as the slightly updated iPod Photo (with color screen), but still considered a 4th gen iPod.
