I saw the posts earlier for the great deal on those drives so I went to Pricegrabber to see what the going rates were and both AccessMicro and McGlen, com had them listed for $71. Here's the link to the McGlen's site:

http://www.mcglen.com/mcglenweb/showprodinfo.asp?ITEMID=XRI4330B67

It appears that the McGlen's shipping is $5.95 ground, $9.00 2nd day and $17 overnight. McGlen's a "Gold" store with Bizrate and a 2 star (out of 3) with Gomez.com. Enjoy! :D

Yeah the Access Micro checkout form said something about the CC charge being listed as from the "McGlen Group" or something similar. Hey, they might have a different inventory. who knows?

My bad, I wonder why a company would have 2 web sites for the same inventory? Tax breaks? Kind of like Chevy and GMC? :)

this website is one dollar higher in the ground shipping than the access website. I guess if i get the drive I will not care.

Odd how these two companies are the customers of my friend (Who does computer distributing) and sold them drives at $115 a piece. Dunno how they can come around and resell it for $71. Something fishy is going on. Maybe refurbished?

I wouldn't worry if the drive was refurbished by IBM because for at least the last 4 years, manufacturers have been replacing practically everything but the main casting, and even it often gets a new nonstick coating.

OTOH I wouldn't buy his drive unless IBM had something in writing saying they'd cover it for at least 1 year because I've had even IBM drives fail in the first few months.

Well, I just ordered two - just in case they actually do ship them. Man I could use two ATA100 30 gig drives for less than $150 - that would be great!

warranty is 30-days. Free gifts with purchase add $2+~$5 shipping for the free gift.
Company rebate is $10 on $100 [courtesy of bensbargains.com] They answer their email and faxed me the required sales receipt [on a previous purchase]

Dysen, the "rebate" was mentioned in the original AccessMicro thread :)
