It works fine for me. It will get the ultimate test once I put in my 2 sticks of neon. Right now, with 2 CD drives, 2 hard drives, 6 LED fans, floppy drive, geforce 4, etc. this power supply works fine. Nothing overclocked.

???

Please explain.
I have reused old cases with "USB 1" ports in their bezel, with newer motherboards' USB2 pin headers, as well as old USB1 slot-bracket dongles with USB2 headers... They work fine.

I can't comment on the Foxconn power supply, but I wouldn't use the Turbolink on any system, not even an old junker... It's not just that it has a lower than "norm" capacity for a 350W+ PSU, it also lacks safety features like surge protection. In some instances it might even work fine for a while then fail. The one I have suffered ruptured caps after three months of use in someone else's non-o'c system, before it came into my possession.

I don't remember if i've benchmarked anything running from USB 1.1 cables or not, it wasn't a detail I was focusing on at the time, but I'm sure they were quite a bit faster than USB 1 ports, didn't seem any slower than a motherboard integrated USB 2 port (receptacle in the backplate). I was wondering about the details, where's the evidence that USB 2 requires any special cables (anything beyond a cable that actually adheres to USB 1.1 specs)?

I'm aware that places sell "USB 2" cables, but none are any different than the USB 1.1 cables I already have... Every resource I've seen also suggests that any decent USB 1.1 cable is the same as a USB 2 cable, should work, for example:

MIcrosoft - "USB 2.0 shouldn?t require you to buy new USB cables"

Edit: I just checked out the USB 2.0 Spec (~ 7.6MB), there is a requirement to be met for high-speed cables, to use twisted-pair data lines and shielding. Many of the USB 1.1 cables I have are built this way, while a few of the much older ones, and even some recently bundled with Asus motherboards, still had ribbon-cabling for one of the brackets. The low-speed cables are "recommended" but not required to be twisted-pair signal lines. So ALL USB 1.1 cables obviously shouldn't be used, but some can, even on USB2 high-speed devices.

Weird, I had and Abit Kr7a-133 Raid with a 2 port USB 1.0 rear panel header, and it works fine on my Biostar Mv7kit MB which has 6 USB 2.0 ports. So does my USB 1.1 Card reader... You just have to make sure the pin outs are correct.

New question is, do these cases really come with the LED fans... This is an awesome deal.

My $0.02 on Antec front USB ports and USB 2 problems... It was something to do with the wire, IIRC. Could be the wires were USB 1.0 spec or that they used inferior quality wires that were fine at USB 1 bandwidth, but had problems with USB 2. I remember several people even contacted Antec tech support about the issue.

does anyone know if this one is the same (aluminum) one? for material it says 1.0mm SECC (what is that? steel?), but if you go to the case category page and select "Chenming" as the manufacturer and "aluminum alloy" as the material, it will give that one as one of the results...

Is aluminum really worth the extra money? Who cares if it's lighter, I dont care the thing around anywhere.

I still have the opposite opinion of these Al versions, they're not as sturdy as the steel. Al is great for light-weight and higher light reflectivity, but otherwise there is no benefit to Al, it just costs more. Now, if these were anodized I could see another benefit, but unfortunately they aren't, and even the front bezel isn't even (correctly) colored plastic, is also painted. I'm not downing these cases though, I like mine well enough, but they could be better... I'd have gladly paid $10 more for $10 worth of addt'l Al in 'em.

Well, since no one can tell me a good reason to spend for AL, Im going to go with the steel

The only real reason I can give you is for the better weight when lugging it around to LAN parties. But if you don't care about that, or if it's not even a concern, then there's no need to spend the extra $$.

Most power supplies have no problems at all. Some tell of horror stories of PSU but for me I have no horror stories. 400watts is enough but since it is probably generic like then it isn't good as a 400watt antec PSU for example. Heavy overclockers and computer hardcores go with brandname PSUs. For me this is a hot deal except NO filter. I'm looking for a case like this with a filter. Maybe these filters can be bought separetly? :(
Hmmm reread the first post and saw It is a ChannelWell CWT-420, a decent PSU, and it has dual fans. Even though the description doesn't mention it, the PSU has BLUE LED fans in it. That makes the deal even better. Too bad i'm not buliding a computer these days.

u can just buy fan filters and mount them on the intake fans. or just buy some styrofoam or furnace filter/air filter material and do it yourself. easiest method is to take some stockings and attach to fans.

You mean like panty hose?

Is that better than making filters out of furnace filter?

Foxconn is an excellent PSU; the 450 is one of the best out there.
Yeah right, don't tell me.
By the way MikhailTech guy has no a clue about power supplies. For Christ sake that is just a high school kid with limited knowledge of setting up web front. That isn't anandtech or tomshardware. Foxcon is junk though the Chieftech case is a very nice case. The aluminum version is significantly weaker than the steel one.
