Not sure how long this will last, but... The AGOIA Stepping gaurantee is back! Jump on this while you can!!!

1600+ @ Newegg

im thinking of trying to oc this thing on my asus a7v133
i have a 1ghz thunderbird on that mb at the moment
do u think id need to get a different fan/heatsink than i currently have (i have some sort of a generic)
i currently run my memory at cas 2-2-2 at 153 and i know it will hit 160 at cas 3-2-2 so i may be able to just increase the fsb

D

I have mine on Epox 8k7a with CAS 2.5 Crucial at Athlon XP 2000 speed without volt bump with thermaltake 5 HSF. Runs rock stable.

Great chip

yes! XP should give you a good performance up. How about get the unlock Thoroughbred 1700+ for $60,

Newegg has the AGOIA stepping gaurantee once a while, but even not, i still got AGOIA stepping, but the AGOIA "9" stepping, rather that these AGOIA "Y" stepping which told to be oc a bit better.
anyway, these are bottom price for entry level XP chips.

I'm embarassed to ask this question.

What is AGOIA? How is it different from Thoroughbread?

So do they all come unlocked?

i have the same question about the unlocked 1700 vs the 1600
which one actually has more potential
and im never sure what this means by unlocked with these new chips
does it mean u can just go in the bios or does it mean no cutting involved but still modifying the cpu

D

Tbred supposed to use less energy, run cooler, and easier to get 2000+ speeds.
AROIA supposed to be better than AGOIA.

okay i've been totally out of the cpu circuit...i still have a abit kt7a-raid which was designed for the t-bird core.

i'm pretty sure the palominos will work with some tweaking but will the newer t-bred? thanks.
