nice price on a good board, one thing jumped out at me on the product detail page:

PLEASE NOTE:
- To flash the BIOS, the motherboard must be run with a CPU supported...
-- by the current BIOS revision installed (Athlon 700MHz-1.3GHz OR...
-- Duron 600MHz - 900MHz)

so if you only have an XP processor you plan to use in the board, you will need to borrow/buy an older Athlon/Duron chip just for the BIOS flash, which kinda sucks... would be nice if CompGeeks flashed the new BIOS on for us but thats asking a lot. :)

agreed, good eyes wfay!

I don't see this as a problem...just gives me an excuse to buy a $35 duron and see how much juice i can flow through it for educational purposes ;)

The $10 coupon can be found at techb@rg@ins
($49.00 w/coupon!!!)
Don't you mean 10% instead of $10 off? I don't see a $10 coupon, only a 10%. If I'm wrong, I apologize. If I'm right, you should edit your subject to read ($53.00 w/coupon). Still a screaming deal. I paid $180 when it first came out.:frown:

You have to go to techb@rg@ins website to get a coupon code; I can't link it here - rules!

I wonder if it is specific to this revision of the board? I bought a kg7 for use in my friends xp system, put in a 1700+ it recognized it as a 1467mhz or whatever, then I flashed to latest BIOS. Either way, nice price on a solid performer.

luckily i have a Tbird 850mhz sitting here in my secondary box, so its not an issue for me... but i imagine some people would be unhappily surprised to find it won't boot without an older chip, and then have to spend some extra $$ (and wait a week) for the chip to come in! that would really annoy me!

Yes, there is a $10 coupon available.

59.00 - $10 = 49.00 + 6.00 ground for me = $55.00

This is great for me since my MSI Pro2A MB died. I have a Duron 800 on that MB. I can get this MB, flash it, and then pick up a XP 1800 or so. ;)

Edit -> Thanks ULI for the heads up!

If you need a good case for this mobo, go to www.colorcases.com. They have the 301 Minion on closeout for $29.99. I got the exact same case. Do a google search and you can probably find some reviews on it. Wish I found this deal when the case was $80.

gittyup, there is a $10 off coupon code tied to this mobo offer from CompGeeks. Look for it at Ben's Bargains or FW.

NICE find AnyMal - $50 for the last great thing is a great deal. Decent solution for performance&price. Be advised this board is USB 1.1 (not 2.0) & enjoy!

Any ideas why the picture of the manual says KG7-Lite?

My best guess is that it is titled KG7-LITE/RAID or something like that, you can't see it behind the pic of CD. My Abit KT7RAID board I bought from them has KT7/KT7-RAID on the manual. The boards are virtually identicall except for RAID chipset and two extra IDE connectors. Compgeeks have always sent me what they advertised so I wouldn't worry too much. However, you could drop them e-mail and ask that question. Hope this helps, Pavel (AnyMal)

Great price on great board. Maybe I need another one..... Abit always does this with their manuals to save money, they only have to produce one. I dont think the link in the above post works, but the manual says "KG7-Lite / KG7 / KG7-RAID", the cd is just covering it.
