Wow, great deal for those looking for an iPhone.. units are refurbished, but they come with a 90 day minimum warranty. Not sure if they're eligible for Apple Care or not, though.

Both white and black models available.

Refurbished Phones and Devices
Refurbished phones are previously owned devices that have been unused or lightly used and returned during the 30-day trial period. Each refurbished phone is independently quality tested and loaded with the latest software to meet current factory standards. Some refurbished iPhone 3G devices will have minor scratches.

Refurbished iPhone 3G devices carry a warranty of 90 days or more. For details about the warranty on your refurbished iPhone 3G go to www.apple.com/support/oss/.

From previous threads, I believe the live cashback is rejected for iPhone purchases.

I'm guessing because these are refurbished by AT&T and not Apple.

Too bad the plans are expensive as fuck for these phones. $30 extra dollars a month just for the data plan....no thanks.

Yeah man, fuck that!

But hey, you can cancel the contract for like $150 and you end up saving $100 in the end, right? :)

Well, to be fair it's an extra $15 per month -- as an unlimited 3G data plan for any other phone is $15. The iPhone is an additional $15 on top of that.

Getting mine delivered tomorrow. Can't wait. Plus I get a 20% corporate discount every month for working at Kroger.

Best of luck if trying to upgrade other phones to this for existing AT&T customers. A few days ago I spent over 3 hours, mostly on hold, with 4 different people from 4 different apartments, none of whom could figure out how to upgrade my phones to these refurbs. We could all see the phones on the site, but no one could actually do the deed.

I hear rumors all over that the economy is in the drink because Americans aren't spending money... I tried to spend something close to $2000 (1 8g phone, 1 16g phone & the 2 years of monthly data plans), and no one would take my money. As always, it comes down to service... don't provide reasonable service, and you don't get the money.

*UPDATE* Just for giggles I called back today to see if anyone there had gotten a clue how to do their job. Today I was advised that these phones are ONLY for new customers. BTW, something that I was assured by 3 of the 4 people I talked to the other day, was NOT the case. So once again, people who have been loyal customers for how ever many years, get flipped off. Fortunately for them, no one else has decent coverage around here. Can't wait til they think they've gotten all the new customers they're gonna get outta this & come back to me... then I get to give the finger. I don't need one that bad.

Not quite. They charge like $150 a phone, then come back and charge an additional $200 a phone a few months later. At least they did that to my roommate, and he is still trying to get them to drop the additional $1000 they charged him for the 5 phones he bought but never used. I wouldn't even attempt it after seeing the problems he is having. They seem to have a worse customer service than Comcast.

Well, to be fair, it is the same price as any other smart device for AT&T.

Looks like this deal is alive again, for those who missed out previously.

Indeed, alive. I've been with AT&T since 05 and was able to upgrade to the refurb (I was out of contract for a while). I actually had a $50 hardware upgrade credit (from 06/08) and was able to get it credited to my account (no discounts on iPhones) and no upgrade/activation fee. ;-)

I'm happy, not so much for the +$30/month, but that's what it is to play with this gadget.
