You get free shipping too!

TigerDirect/CompUSA has same price, but you pay shipping.

Got mine a few minutes ago at the egg.

EVGA base model

XFX base model

The EVGA has a lower core but higher memory.
The XFX has a lower memory but higher core.

Here's the EVGA superclocked for $126

Great cards...I've had both models of the GS and they clock similarly (little better Core OC on the XFX and better Mem on the EVGA). The cooler is much better on the EVGA though.

I'm also inclined to say these perform on par, if not a little better, than the 9600GT (especially when overclocked b/c they have great potential)

It looks to me that the eVGA has a better cooler, and it has 1ns memory instead of the 1.2 on the XFX. Although I prefer XFX's warranty, I would go with the EVGA. Sadly I could have had two with the amount I spent on my 8800GT just a few months ago.

I know that feeling well, but that's life in PC gaming. :brokenheart:

I grabbed the superclocked eVGA earlier this morning. Great warranty, cool, factory overclocked, high quality brand, cheap...everything I was looking for. Gonna put it with an e2200.

I had the XFX, put a VF900 on it and the core got to 740mhz (from 580) and memory 1650. Pretty awesome deal for the performance per dollar.

the fan is pretty loud on xfx version , oh well.. already purchased it but I am quite happy with it. 715/990 with stock fan :) not to shabby although a nice 1000 would be better

xfx version doesnt have a pwmm fan. the evga one uses the standard pwmm fan all 8800gt and 9600gt use (so it can switch speed from 2d to 3d modes). so that alone is better not to mention you can overclock it to higher than the xfx and the 1ns memory.

Nvidia's naming is really pissing me off. It's so damn confusing. I was looking at this deal like why would anyone want to buy an old 8800gts at this point for a few bucks cheaper then a 9600GT.

trying to decide if its worth it to ditch my SLI 7800GT setup for one of these cards. Thoughts?

I'm assuming there are no promo codes to go with the XFX deal?

palit 9600gt with hdmi... $109 AR

that blows the 8800gs deal out of the water.

Winner! I would not say the 9600GT blows the 8800GS out of the water, however I do think its a much better card overall since most people play at 1280x1024 or higher resolution. Other than someone who already has one 8800GS and wants to SLI, I see no reason anyone would pick up a $99 8800GS over a $109 9600GT. Deal is cold now.
