Smokin! Thanks for the deal.

This drive is selling for $148 at buy.com. If it is like the 45GB OEM drives it should have a 3 year mfr warranty.

Man! :D I just ordered 2. 1 for a system I am building for someone and one for myself. ;) :D At that price I was thinking upgrade kids system, maybe a spare. Where does it end?

Anyhow this is an excellent drive I bought one in august from buy.com for what I just bought 2 for. It also was oem.

"limited" quantity. I bet the deal falls through for virtually everyone. But in the meantime Access Micro and McGlen get some customers in their database... I hope I am wrong.

It says "bare drive." I assume, as you guys have stated, that means no cables, etc. What cables will I need? Does ATA/100 take something different than what I likely already have on my current drive?

I have an old 2GB Samsung in my machine now. I would imagine it's ATA/33 - can I use the cables already there - just unplug the old, plug in the new (I can handle the reformatting and installing of OS).

Thanks,
Dan

I've been watching this drive for a while waiting for a price like this!

Hot damn, I found a $10 off $50 code in my inbox that they had sent me a few months ago and couldn't resist:) Less than $71 shipped, if this comes through...:D I might just sell my new 40 gb maxtor and save some more $$

Nice find. I hope they don't cancel the orders after the site gets AnanTechized.

Wow, amazing deal. I, too, have had spotty service with AccessMicro, but I'd definitely take a risk on this. It's so worth it. This drive rocks (I have one).

As for ATA/100 cards: Good question. Onvia used to be the undisputed winner for controller cards, with their free shipping and lower prices. But now that they CHARGE for shipping and have RAISED prices, somehow, I don't like shopping there as much.

Don't buy a knockoff controller card. Get a Promise or the like. A "really good" card isn't going to cost you more than about $20 or $25 anyway. I got burned a couple times on knockoffs.

Okay, dropped their "free" gift from my order and saved myself about $10.00 shipping. Still cost me $28.00 to ship to Alaska, but hey, even for $99.00 total shipped it's a HOT DEAL. Anybody want to buy a pair of WD 6.4 giggers? $45.00 apiece shipped?

Killrose: this is probably not the place to sell your old drives. Why? Check the topic. Anyhow, I just shipped my Western Digital 8.4 gig hd I've had over a year that I sold on fleabay for 88 bucks shipped. :) Good luck with that and this is a great deal IF it goes through.
