Can anyone confirm that you can get 3 $10 rebates for the TDK? The rebate form is completely illegible because it's so blurry. Anyone able to find a better copy?

Thanks

Wow...and I thought I did good getting 200 CD-Rs @ OfficeMax for free a while back (though it took forever to get the rebate because the company handling the rebate wasn't the most reputable).

BTW, the correct SKU for the webcam is 479859 and the Philips CD-Rs are in a 100-pack spindle, not a 50-pack. (The 250 CD-Rs in the thread title is correct.) Free next-day delivery is also sweet, especially when you figure that Staples doesn't have any Las Vegas stores (that's going to cost 'em :D ).

another way to make it a deal:
100 cdr + webcam - 15 off 30 coupon (phone order only) then you get $1 back after rebate and tax.

If you do the online rebate form through staples it states:

One request per envelope please. Rebate applies to a TDK CD-R 80 50 Pack (SKU 452651) purchased at Staples stores, Staples.com or Staples Direct only. Limit three (3) rebate checks per individual, group or address. This offer cannot be used in combination with any other offer for the described TDK Product. Any address using a P.O. Box will not be honored. Your request card must be accompanied by the UPC symbol from the TDK CD-R80 50-Pack and a copy of your original cash register receipt as described above. Proofs of purchase become the sole property of TDK and will not be returned. Offer good only in the U.S.A. Void where prohibited, taxed or otherwise restricted by law. Requests or checks lost in the mail or misdirected by the U.S. Postal Service are not the responsibility of TDK, this store or the assigned fulfillment center. Fraudulent submissions of multiple requests could result in federal prosecution under U.S. Mail Fraud Statutes 18 USC, Sections 1341-42. Please allow 8 to 10 weeks for delivery of check. Offer expires September 30, 2002. All requests must be postmarked no later than October 31, 2002. Any requests received beyond this date will not be honored.

Looks like its a go.

Sorry for this dumb question, but I'm new to this.

Do I have to wait until the product arrive to fill out the rebate coupons or do I do it now?

I'm assuming I have to wait to get the UPC codes?

Also, to MAY - how did you work out your deal again? I really don't need a surge protector even if it's free.

thanks.

andymart,

You can fill out the rebate coupons anytime, but you will need to wait to receive the shipment before sending them to Staples. This is because you need to send the UPC symbol (from the box or paper insert) to Staples to receive the rebate.

The reason why you want to include the surge protector is to bump the price to over $100 so you can use the $20 off coupon. If you can find something else you need for around $10 (even without another $10 rebate), then it is defintely worth doing.

The Camera and the TDK CDRs both require Original Receipt. How would you do that? It clearly says on both rebates that the original receipt is required. If that is the case..the deal may be not so hot...just a caution.

If I'm not mistaken, if you do this in-store, you can just ask them to re-print the receipt. Make as many as you want.

You may want to try submitting an email along with your order stating that there are 2 original receipts required for rebates and that you would like separate receipts or 2 copies if possible.

thanks for this awesome deal..

I just called up the Staples Rebates customer service line (the web page I got the phone # from is here) .. the CSR said that you can just make copies, and enclose a note that CLEARLY states why you sent a copy instead of the original along with the rebate.. in addition, she said that if you have any problems from the manufacturer's that you can tell the manufacturer to call the customer service line (1-888-856-9210) .. hope this works!

good luck all..

Good find, but one small question. Doesn't 150 CD-R's + 50 = 200? =]
The Philips spindle is 100 cds so the original post is correct

When they say "Copy of original receipt" do they mean a photocopy of original receipt or the actual original receipt????? I'm getting confused now
