I just took a look and at the Micro Center add. On it was a 100pk CDR spindle for 16.99, no rebates or coupons. Their probably poor quality, but at 17 cents a cdr, You cant beat it.

I must see 3 cd-r deals every day. The funny thing is, they're usually pretty good deals, there's no denying that. I just think if you need a CD-R deal, most places that sell them sell at least 15-20 kinds and ONE will be on special. No need to really talk about the hot deals because if you really need CD-R's, some of them are ALWAYS on sale. Thanks for the heads up though gogeeta13.

I don't think that you did anything wrong. This is a forum for hot deals and even if there are other CDR sales going on, 17 cents a disk qualifies, at least in my book, as a hot deal. Keep up the good work and never be afraid to post a bargin.

Some more details on this deal:

The CDRs are available in both 74 minute and 80 minute formats. The SKU numbers are as follows:

74 Minute: 624353
80 Minute: 624726

Also, the price is actually $16.95

Unfortunately, these are only 8X speed rated.:(:(:(:(:(

This is not good if you have one of those new zippy 12x or 16x Plextor drives.

Speaking of the speed, I've actually had no problems burning all my 8x cdrs (different brands) at, indeed, 12x speed. They read fine in all cd readers I have, so I am wondering if there are any negative consequences "overclocking" cdrs this way.

Uhhh, I'd also like to say that I use my memorex 80 min 700mb 8x max write speed discs at 12x on my new Iomega 12x10x32 :), and haven't had any problems at all.

Oh by the way, those CompUSA 12x 50 packs that sell for $9.99 per 50 pack and are supposed to be 74 min 650mb, are actually 80min 700mb.

I bought 2 packs of those with 2 CompUSA $5.00 rebates. Yeah, I think 10 cents per CD is a good deal. Although, even at 20 cents per disc you can't go wrong considering their actual specs.

Go get'em boys and girls!

If you're concerned with quality, don't buy offbrand. Buy Kodak or Taiyo Yuden. These 2 brands have excellent quality.
