Insertion fees for Auction-style and Fixed Price listings will be revised on the U.S. www.eBay.com, and Motors (non-vehicles) www.eBayMotors.com as reflected in the fee table below. just saw this thread and listed my apollo laser pointer I have never used. Bought it from viking when they did that free dvd player deal.
 
ebay is always like this, they like to start a promotion when they know that there are less buyers out there. Just passed Christmas, many people already received their gifts or bought more than enough thing before Christmas, less likely to buy more from ebay. And many people are still in vacation til New Years.
 
Yes, worst time to list true auctions as the potential buyers are relatively few. But with such a low insertion fee one can afford to set the starting price higher to avoid giving the item away.
 
I was going to list today but then I noticed that everything that's sold after Xmas has been for a little bit of money compared to before Xmas. I figured that many people are off enjoying the holidays and not ebaying. No competition, lower prices. I'll wait a couple of weeks and pay the extra 20 cents.
