"It says its metalic gold but its really plastic. The batteries last long enough to release 'tension' several times but you should consider having spare batteries. I found it frustrating when the batteries started to run down, the vibrator slowed down and my satisfaction went down with the drop in power. On the upside I was able to make this vibrator reach areas that other vibrators shaped differently simply could not massage. For the price you simply can't find a better vibrator.
