I thought everybody knew...I used to hang around their electronics, gadgets and computer department about 20 years ago...they had some pretty cool gadgets before The Sharper Image even existed. Pretty big department - at least 15,000-20,000 square feet.

You Youngins' would never know. Before there was Fry's and Staples pricematch, there was Macy's electronics. Some of the best deals ever were when Macy's announced that they would close their electronics department and everything was 60 to 80% off.

This looks a lot like the kodak DC3200, in fact almost identical. the differences i noticed were: the veo has usb connection, tripod socket and perhaps better software. the kodack lacks usb, but has video out, which lets you do 'slide shows' on your t.v. (kind of fun) i have the kodak, and i would say it is a good 'starter' camera: not a 'toy', fine for ebaying, and snapshots; sort of the digital instamatic. the kodak sells for around $130 and i got a $70 rebate (now expired), so for $44.95 w/o rebate hassles, i'd say this is as hot as it gets for a 1.3. as noted in the kodak threads, you will likely want to get a c.f. card, c.f. reader, and rechargeable batteries.

The "up to" probably means one of two things. First, most cameras have different quality modes. Second, some cameras are specified at an interpolation rate (either done inside the camera, or with the bundled software). Agfa used to do this.

Any camera that can double as a webcam will probably do lower quality still images. I once emailed Largan tech support to ask them if there was a picture quality difference between their Chameleon (does webcam) and another model (forgot which, but it was really cheap). They replied saying that the cheaper camera will do better still picture quality because of the image sensor, that the ones able to capture fast enough for motion didn't capture as good an image. Both were 640x480.

will be
1.Chameleon use CMOS sensor , in this moment , CCD sensor still be a little
bit better then CMOS sensor .Both the Lmini and Chameleon come with
"similar" image quality. And we offer the two cameras with true optical
resolution 640*480.

2.30FPS will be at the resolution 320*240 , but if your light condition is
not bright enough, they will drop frams.

3.For Lmini 350 , you will take over 200 pictures with one new CR123 Li
battery. for Chameleon , due to the LARGAN power tech and the CMOS , you
will take up to 1000 pictures with 2 AA batteries. need more pictures, 2 AA
Alkaline batteries can take up to 5000 pictures.

Note : without flash light

4.Lmini 350 can store up to 32 pictures (640*480), Chameleon will sotre up
to 120 pictures(640*480)

5.I am sorry that you didn't see that in the web or some store, we

Uses 4 AA batteries? That seems like a lot. I wonder if it might me worth it to spend a little more for a better camera that has a rechargeable battery. I mean, AA batteries are not cheap and you might end up going through a lot with this camera. What do you all think? Anyone know what the battery life is like with this camera?

I'm a little confused. I know that in the e-mails Zap posted there is some discussion about battery lives of cameras... but they are talking about completely different cameras, and not the one that is the subject of this thread. Is that not the case?

I will try to posts pics tomorrow. The camera feels kind of cheap, especially the bottoms. I'll see how the picture quality is to decide if I keep it or not. Good thing Macy's doesn't have restocking fee

What is Macys? Never heard of them.

BB here doesn't have the Kodak DC3200. Two doors down at OD they had the DC3200, for a much higher price, saw it when I stopped in to look for the $14 Pinnacle DC10+

About the batteries, i suggest you guys go out and get you some rechargables. I have a few 1800mAh for $4 each, let me know if you want any, but i think you can find 'em cheaper elsewhere.

Anyway...i don't really know much about digital cameras, some1 tell me exactly, what kind of memory cards does this thing use? And how much (approx) are they?
