I used Hostpc a number of years ago for a personal site that never amounted to much. There were no issues, and the few times I had questions, I got a response from Joe quite promptly.

I'd like to chime in that I've been very happy with my HostPC account. I had a few issues initially but they were worked out pretty quickly. I've never had any issues with customer service.

I've never used HostPC or even heard of them before this thread, but I will uselessly bump it to the top as others have done.

Wow. I find the number of posts by "new" members (low post count) in this thread rather disturbing.
Regardless of what the OP did, and I understand that he might be upset and acting irrationally for what they did, I find it more disturbing that this company comes on here and drags the fight out.
Doesn't exactly inspire confidence if they have the time to go after one disgruntled customer like that. If they were really concerned about their image they should have fixed his issue.
He might have acted like an @ss but guess what ... he's the customer and he's always right.
And if he really didn't pay, they should have notified him and then kicked his @ss off their server!

Very shady business practices!!!

I'm not an employee. These are all public support channel chat logs.

you just happened to come across this thread on the internet and the decided to play Sherlock Holmes and create an account to discredit the OP?

EXACTLY what I am thinking.

I signed up with hostpc using paypal because it was joes preferred method. It was canceled for fraud. I'm glad it was as I think he's a douche and I am glad I won't have to do business with him. Funny how the fraud thing has never happened to me before, or since. Never could get a straight answer from him about that. I'm not the only one that happened to during the last promotion, but he states it hasn't happened more than 25 times since he has been in business. I think maybe he was just lazy and somewhat full of shit. Good luck joe, I can see you being one of those businesses that is no more before long.

so why didn't you leave them 2 years ago?

It was cheap to run the stuff there, and I is a total pain to move servers, which I am doing right now =( Im not that great and working with webpages =(

Cheap as in not paying for the past year as joe mentioned in the other post?

If they were not paid for, do you think my sites would have been up and running?

so you have a dedicated server then?

I suggest checking out softlayer.com

best damn dedicated server hosting I have ever come accross. Been with them 3 years now and not a single complaint.

I had alot of issues with host pc. It worked well....WHEN it worked. Customer Service is farily rude, but they are fast and rude at the same time. Id never use them again personally and wouldnt recommend them. There are plenty of other mom and pop hosts that do the same thing for the same price...and arent rude.

hmm.

new user. just joined today.

1st post in a bash thread of a company.

im betting the ip's would be close to the OP. or you are a friend of his

This is more fishy than the 6-poster who came in here to defend HostPC how?

I'd say she has to be if she's posting information about the OPs account.

Necro was being an ass, but it's unprofessional IMO to come on here and get into a public fight over it, especially when they begin posting his communications and contact info.

Agreed. I had an account with HostPC for several years and only once did I have problems with support. Other than that, they were just fine for the money I paid them.

But after reading all that's gone on in this thread, I'm pretty positive I will never do business with HostPC again. Even if AmyC is not an employee, she certainly comes across as having some sort of personal stake in the matter. Everybody knows there are crap customers out there and the OP certainly seems like one. But as a business, HostPC should continue taking the higher ground instead of further egging the now EX-customer on. Not very professional at all in my opinion.

And FWIW AmyC - If you look so highly upon HostPC that you feel you have to publicly defend them, perhaps you should do it in a way that mirrors the attitude of Joe and HostPC instead of like a four-year-old as the OP is behaving.

This, absolutely. Joe came off looking great until he started agreeing with people calling the customer stupid. I still think the OP is in the wrong but glad he could expose the true colors of HostPC and it's owner.
