hosting games online problem

i'm trying to host a server for cs (not dedicated) on the net, but whenever i start hosting, it'll host it so the IP is 192.168.0.1 (for my lan). i got ICS running so i can share my cable with the other computer that's lan'ed to my comp.

any way i can host it so it'll be available to the net? i tried opening the ports 27015 (which CS is defaulted to hosting on) but it still doesnt affect. thanks in advance

What's CS?

192.168.0.1 is the "internal IP" setup. Do you have 2 NICs?

If you do, then the NIC connected to the internal net should be setup with that address. The external one setup to cable should be random addressing.

Describe your LAN setup (s/w etc...).

While in the game bring up the console and type sv_lan 0 to make it an internet game. You really should set up a dedicated server and it would run better. Just set up a dedicated server and make a shortcut to it and set the -port 27016 and you should still be able to join the server from the same machine. You really would get more answers in the forums at the CS Web Page
