Hosting company's claims

When a company say they have an OC3 connection, is it really true?? How can we check on this claim?

PS: OC3 is faster than T3 right??

T3 is 45Mbps
OC3 is 155Mbps

If you can get an IP for a machine on thier side of thier claimed OC3 I can tell you based on segment latency and segment names. Its nice having an uncle who has the spec sheets for fiber technology. Every 50 miles has .023ms latency plus 3.65ms latency on the repeater that must come every 50 miles. Based on a trace route I could tell you if its a true OC3.
