Hostel. Anyone thinks this looks good?

At first, I kinda dismissed this as just another average horror movie, but after seeing how Quentin Tarantino promoting this on Conan, I want to see it. If he says it's truly horrifying, it must be.

meh, maybe i've seen too many... the movie was comically funny with all the gore... i laugh at the slippery floor especailly. in a good way i mean. i did enjoy the movie. ichi is pretty cool.

I saw it today, I thought it was very good.

Don't worry about the gore, they manage to squeeze in about 30 minutes of female nudity in the beginning, so if anything, just see it for that 🙂

hah yea. i just got back. A LOT of T&A in this movie ... a lot, and most of them are hot as shlt. the movie was overhyped IMO as far as the gore factor, sayin on the previews that a paramedic had to be called in during the screening to help some viewers. it definitely was very gory and graphic, and the ending of the movie is just so badass that it left everyone in the theatre clapping at the end.

if you like horror movies, definitely go see this. great flick IMO.

This just looks like pointless brutality and blood. Does it have any interesting plot twists like Saw?

probably not...Quentin Tarantino flicks NEVER have any quirks. 😉

Quentin Tarantino had no hand in the production of this movie, much like Hero, and several others.

edit: erm... nevermind. i just watch the trailers and clips.

the television commericals are so mild by comparison.

i don't think i can handle that.

Not only was the theatre I was in completely packed 30 minutes before the start of the movie, one person threw up and eight-ten people left the theatre during the tendon scene.

OK, need some feedback here...........

I *do* have a gory side.........(actually, probably evil, but I pretend it's not, har har)......

and I have ***NOT*** seen Saw 1, Saw 2 or this movie. (Is this one out yet?)

Anyway, I've seen the commercial for this a couple times & it looks just like Saw 1, 2 to me.

Are any of the 3 worth seeing or are they are all just sick & demented movies that shouldn't be seen???

Or is Saw somehow "better/more humane"??????

TIA

The 2 saw movies are actually quite good. You should see them and make sure you see them in order!

I saw this movie last night. It was horrific to the max. I don't think I have seen a movie this horrific before. I liked it. Two thumbs up.

However, I will say that this movie did not feel like a Tarantino film at all. Sorry to all the Tarantino buffs out there.

you are aware that he did not direct or write this film, correct? He was a very small part of it, one of 4 producers if I am not mistaken

Yeah there was some other movie he did before that where at the end the guy pulls his own arm off and then pulls out a rocket launcher, good stuff, can't recall the name ATM.

Dead or Alive was the movie and that had to be the best 10 minutes of movie ever!

probably one of the most hilarious movies i've seen in a while. not scary/gory at all...the saw movies were much much scarier/gory than this was...and at least had a *decent script/plot*

I'm honestly surprised Quinten put his name behind this one...hero was amazing...where did this come from?

Only thing that made it worthwhile was all the nudity, oh the nudity.

I guess most people will find it relatively gory...but from the previews, I thought it was gonna be a lot more intense...honestly, they don't show much at all and I was really let down : (...I wanted to be freaked out and have nightmares...it was just funny...whereas saw movies...the scenes would still be in my mind when I took a shower at night : P

Hmm, looking at the cast, there are mostly Czech girl names, so I have to check this out regardless 😀

Don't you mean the Hussein brothers? 🙂

I must say that I'm somewhat interested in seeing this film. For a gore film to knock off Narnia so soon, it must be decent. Or ppl have a morbid facination w/ death.

Me and a buddy wanted to go see a decent movie since our wives weren't coming with us, and we didn't have three hours to watch Kong, so we chose Hostel. Neither of us had seen any previews, so we didn't know what to expect.

The T&A was a nice touch, but the violence and gore were a bit too extreme for my tastes. My buddy was really squeamish during most of the torture scenes, admitting that he couldn't watch parts of it. I got a kick out of his reactions moreso than from the movie itself. He said he must be getting too old. We're both 28.

This was an early matinee, and there were only about 20 other people in the theater with us. Nobody got up and left, and nobody vomited. And thankfully, nobody cheered. Everyone was pretty much speechless when they left the theater.

I haven't seen Saw 2 yet, but I've seen Saw 1, and Hostel is much more extreme. The closest comparison I can give you, in terms of the feelings this movie gave me, would be American Psycho. And if Ichi the Killer is anything close to Hostel, I am definitely taking it off my list of movies to rent when the wife and kids are away.

Checked out this flick on Saturday. I swear at first I felt like I was watching Eurotrip 2... then all of the sudden WTF! Huge gorefest LOL. It had quite a few squimish moments. Overall I'd give it 8/10 and say I'll watch it again. Enjoy it for what its worth... it was a refreshing movie to me. Oh, and I think I counted about 40 shots of boobies in this one.
