yes the US does have the ability to help. but it does not.

damn politicians don't have guts to go after terrorists. fukking assholes.

Hell yes! They wouldn't be handcuffed by US laws and could ignore civil tort actions! I think you just solved the problem of the drug war!

Do you have any concept of the facts? The US does not negotiate with terrorists because when you do, you encourage them to take more hostages. Did you happen to notice that this same group scored several million dollars from the Filipino government not too long ago and used that to fund their operations with fast boats and weapons? Golly, that negotiation sure worked, didn't it???

Yet the State Department travel advisory puts American tourists on notice that the entire region is subject to unrest. With recent abductions from resorts, only an idiot would venture over there right now. I bet they have some great deals though!
