Saw that the other day on The Denver Channel...

It's his horses, he can "cull his heard" however he wants...

especially since the town ordinances is making him get rid of his trailers where he keeps the horses.. so he has no choice but to get rid of them.

the comment about 'stabbing the foal and bashing the mare's head' tho is a bit overboard.

Agreed, and I'm tired of dumbshit ordinances about what you can or can't keep on private property. I would think a mandatory fee with a safety exam of the structure might be acceptable, but just a flat 'fuck you, tear it down, go to jail, pay us $$$' is everything wrong with these kinds of laws/ordinances.

From what I can gather, it's not like he's right up next to somebody else's house with a bunch of garbage, he's got some acreage and space (which he undoubtedly pays a fair amount of taxes for already).

This reminds me of how when my GF was driving her car home after it had been repaired (took a while), her inspection sticker was one month out. The douchebag cop gave her a ticket, and told her there was 20 days to get inspection and have it 'reduced'. The reduction? From $230 to $140. Fuck those cocksuckers. Not her fault she's driving 3 fucking miles to get her car home so she can get it inspected the next day.

When I worked at a farm in a rural town, I met a man who told me his senile mother lived in a trailer full of dozens of cats. I was thinking, 'yeah, who's senile mother in this state DOESN'T do that, right?'

But then he casually told me how he went to her trailer one day, dug a hole in the yard and then proceeded to start shooting cats with a .22 pistol and dropping them in the hole. I didn't say another word in that conversation I don't think. Somewhat in his defense, his mothers neighbors were complaining loudly against the invasive felines as well as most of them being pretty sick with cat-type diseases, snotty eyes, etc. But still, there are other ways to rid yourself of a passel of cats.

All that meat you eat was alive at somepoint and someone killed it. Hope you don't like crab or fish. Crab are alive when proccessed. Fish are gutted and beheaded when alive or does your compassion for an animal only go as far as how cute the animal is?

I think it was more the part about stabbing pregnant mares in the gut to kill the foal then bashing their heads in.

If you see no difference between that and gutting a fish, then I'm not sure what to say.

You're right. He should bash the mare's head first, then stab the foal.

Comment from the article:
And no one is attempting to remove the horses from this lunatics care?

Is this guy volunteering to house and feed 24 horses? Then have them put down after a month anyway because no one wants them? People are stupid.

You worked on a farm, and have a problem with someone humanely & rapidly euthanizing cats by shooting them in the head(presumed) with a .22?

Common nickname for horses: hay burners. With all the state land we have adjacent to our property, I considered getting a couple horses for me and the wife to ride on the trails. Then I realized it'd be far cheaper & more convenient to get a couple of 4-wheelers.

Heh, why does this keep happening to me? I didn't have a problem with it, I've got no love for cats, I was just stunned by his story. I worked on a farm, yes, but all I did was work with the hay balers and occasionally clean stalls. They had two cats at the farm in my whole time there, and one died of old age and one got run over by a car. I had never in my life heard of someone just taking care of business and whacking these cats and burying them in a pit.

I didn't realize Lochbuie was part of Weld County (ex-Greeleyite here). It must be on the very southern tip near the Adams county border.
