Horror movie marathon..what movies do we need?

Ah, a movie thread! My favourite 🙂
The Thing, definetly!!!! One of the best horror movies made. Great psychological chills, and buckets of gore when called for.
Poltergeist. A classic of creepy.
The Ring. The american remake. I've seen it and the original, and the remake is much superior. Tighter story, bit better chills.
The Exorcist. For completness. Try and get the extended.
Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Cheesy b-movie goodness. Some great jump scenes, and great job at creating suspense and dread.
The Relic. More modern horror. Heavier on the action, lighter on the suspense and chills. Still good, though. Try and read the book
Night of the Living Dead. Original or remake, both are good. I think the remake was a little tighter and had the better ending, though. (Can also do as a companion piece Return of the Living Dead for a bunch of good laughs!)
The Wickerman. British, but cool. Try and get the director's cut, as it's a little better. A tame movie, but a cool ending. Warm-up fare.
Alien. The best piece of sci-fi horror, hands down.
Jaws. Well know, so include only if there's a lot of ppl that have never seen or haven't seen in a long time.
Tremors. More action than horror, with a bit of humour thrown in. Do a great job of not showing the monster 'till they need to.
Se7en. Psychological chiller. Kevin Spacy plays an EXCELLENT psychopath. Very very good.
The Others. A psychological chiller about a family where the children are photosensitive and there may be ghosts in the house.
Looking forward to other suggestions, and perhaps a final list on what you choose, Syringer.

70s porn music still gives me the chills.
Exactly. Being startled is a cheap ploy, when I WANT to be scared, really want to be scared, I want psychological horror, something that gradually makes your blood pressure and pulse go up, the perspiration starts to form on your forehead, you feel as if you are in danger, and you have NO IDEA what is about to happen. That is the best type of horror, which is why if you watched the Ring really WATCHED it, and thought into the premise (The total evil of samara) then you would realize how terrifying it is.

Dead Alive (directed by none other than Peter Jackson). Make sure you get the uncut version though. The rated version cuts out so much gore it's not even worth watching.
