Horrid Motel experiences

At the BW I work at, we just enter the card info into our system and preauth the card at check-in just to make sure your CC is able to provide necessary funds. After everyone checks out, the payments are posted and charged to the cards. If the room is canceled before that, the system will recognize that and not post the payment (charge your card). You shouldn't have to come back in the morning, but I would just to make sure since they're a small chain and since the clerk was new, he might not know how to cancel out a room in his system.

If all does not go as planned, you can always dispute the charge. However, a hotel's recourse to claim payment when there is a chargeback is that little registration card you sign when you check in. It could possibly become a sticky situation. I'd talk to the manager and make sure everything is A-okay.

I talked to them and apparently it appears it was either reversed or cancelled. Was given another receipt when I went back in the morning that said $0 so everything should be A-Okay. learned my lesson though. Going with well known chains from now on

I haven't been to a hotel in years that cost less than $300 a night, so I can't relate

So why bother posting in this thread?

pfft you know why? to say he stays in $300+ rooms.

I was on a roadtrip for a baseball tournament and four of us were just looking for a place to crash for as cheap as possible. There was a Quality Inn nearby but we chanced it on this sketchy motel that cost half as much, I don't remember how much I paid but it was less than $10. Needless to say I've seen better rooms before; so we decided to go wander around the hotel and found a strip club... inside the hotel. So we said we'd check it out after we went out for a bit. When we got back later, just as we were about to go in, these 3 guys about were coming out and told us that we really shouldn't go in there because all the girls were nasty, we took their word for it.

I remember a few friends and I rented this room at a off-chain motel. The place was just disgusting with stains everywhere. The toliet creaked and made the most haunting noise when flushed. The room was really dark cause of the poor lighting. And get this, there was even an outline of a person drawn on the ceiling. I was like f-this I'm not sleeping here so we went down and got our money back and left.
