That saddens me. I saw a trend in posting problems with video cards, and thought I should join in to help people avoid the problems?

How can that be flamebait?

Bad memory on cards?!?!

http://rage3d.com/board/showthread.php?t=33806986
Yep more bad memory.....

Now MEMORY problems! Can ATI do ANYTHING right?!?!?!

I mean it's bad enough they couldn't figure out SM3 or multi-GPU, now it looks like they can't even figure out single cards!

What saddens you? There is no trend of bad memory on the X800's, and the two threads you linked to @Rage3d were started by the same guy, and if you actually READ the specs of that guys comp, you will see he has a 9500pro.

WTF? Are you ok Rollo? Friday the 13th must have affected your brain. You are usually much more focused then this, with less of a slant. I could handle a post like this if it was April 1st, but you missed that one fellow AT'er. This post along with your R520 Delayed thread. :disgust:

I don't think Rollo was trying to be serious in any way. I think he's trying to show the rest of us how he feels about the threads that disparage NV products recently. To me it seems like he feels that they are foolish and thus he made completely ludicrous claims against ATI products. IMHO of course.

Btw, this and all similar threads here in the AT video forum make the baby jebus cry. :(

I don't feel like searching, but what about all those crashing 6800 Ultras and 6600 GTs.

Over heating, and many more that I can't think of right now, but they exist - just on this forum.

This is the crappiest thing I've ever seen you posting. Especially going to an All ATI website, if we went to an all NV website, we would find the same and possibly worse

How anyone could have thought this was serious is beyond me.

Only posted as a parody of the "SLI doesn't work with shutter glasses- can nVidia do anything right" thread.

Yep that's true Vian.

This thread is a parody of this thread. I was lampooning what I see as the ridiculous nature of posting something as meaningless as SLI not working with stereoscopic glasses as a "news" item.

"Oh noes! Our old 3d glasses from Geforce 4 days don't work!"

My point was that it's inflammatory and hostile to insult other people's hardware for trivial reasons that don't apply to many people at all.

Why wouldn't I? I posted this to accuse others of trolling.

To be honest, I'm fairly shocked anyone took it seriously. I never have and never will post junk like this.
(and I tried to make make it pretty obvious I was joking with the
Lock-ups with the Gamma slider?!?! Why oh why can't we adjust GAMMA?!? Waaaaaaaahhhh!
type comments?)

Ever notice all your links are from the exact same site? Maybe THEIR pcs are screwed up, or maybe they have a defective card. I can sure as heck do all the things they do without a crash, and my system will never crash in the middle of a game.

i'm more amused than shocked.

edit--shocked is seeing people take bar's 3d glasses thread seriously, although that was pretty amusing as well. lack of support for 3d glasses = "2 steps back" lol

My apologies at interjecting an actual real issue into your parody thread Rollo- but ATi's stupid and/or lazy driver team still has not fixed Sacrifice. A few months away from the THREE YEAR mark for them to fix that one. ATi's response is the same as always- "We got your money..... go fvck yourself". Actually, they claim they never stated the game would work on their hardware so it shouldn't be considered defective.

And you've never been inflammatory, hostile or insulted other people's hardware before? Perhaps you'd better take a good long look in the mirror before you start accusing others.

Of course hes a hypocrite, but Im sure he already knew that. He likes to troll, and then accuse others of trolling, among other things.

I didnt think this was news at all.

Do any of you read what you write? "insulted other people's hardware" With all the war, death, and hunger in this world, you guys are arguing about injured feelings because of inanimate objects? This is fvckin' Bizzaro world....

This whole thread reeks of stupidity, from the very first post to all the bickering.

Its unfortunate that there are so many threads like this and thus the ones where someone needs legitimate help get passed up. Not only that, but half of those get infested with this stupid fighting over SLI and everything else.

i debated whether or not to even reply to this thread, but in the end decided I just "needed to"...all HW has issues, and as a few ppl alrerady said, we could make a similar thread about anything....

why dosnt SLI support multi monitors? why do drivers have to be written especially for SLI to work with games....why cant a Leprechaun in a wheel be my GPU insetad...

this thread is toast...nothing has been nor will be accomplished

dguy!
I have posted at least three times in this thread that I am not trying to point out problems with ATI cards, I'm trying to point out problems with some recent anti-SLI threads.

The X800 core better be working right these days- they've had almost three years of writing drivers for it?

SLI is a whole 6 months old, and IMO, when the worst you can point out about it is that it doesn't work with Apple monitors, 3d glasses, and Windows 2000- maybe we don't need any more inane "OMFG! nVidia haxorz screwing us with no 3d glasses" type threads.

Well, this is not an OT forum to make fun of other threads and laugh at other people. People usually post here if they have usefull information or they need help.

How could it not be flamebait if you started it with crying and "Waaaaaaahhhh! And "Crappy products" and so on?
I vote for lock too, and I hope this thread was never created.

edit: don't respond to me, because I am leaving this thread.

He's making a point and I see where Rollo is coming from. That last thread on the widescreen fix was lame. Only that one was serious, at least this one is tongue and cheek.
