Where is his mother? Shouldn't he be with her right now?

Other than that, I don't know what you should tell him.

That's awful, my condolences. Tell your drug-addict of a friend to piss off, drugs only contribute to more problems.

Weed is non-habit forming.

I'd go smoke with him if he wants to.. atleast it'll take his mind off of it for a few hours.

And I'd be sure that his mom knows she might not get life insurance paid (if his father had any). A lot of policies don't cover suicides, which this could be deemed. It'd really suck if the main income generator in the house died, and they had no money.

u shouldn't go smoke up with him. if he is depressed... he might grow to depend on weed.

I would tell him no. Turning to drugs or alcohol when things are bad is never a good idea. The loss of a parent is patricularly harsh. Try to be understanding, listen if he needs to talk.

Sorry to hear about his dad. :(

imo, go and smoke with him, hang out and just talk to him about the whole thing.... it might've been better that his father died this way, there was probably no pain and he probably went fairly peacefully.

Let me get this straight... his dad just killed himself from a drug overdose, and you're encourging the kid to go some some more weed?!?
:Q

Are you NUTS?!?

weed is a mild halucinagin, not a depressent, so it won't add to his depression (if he has a case of depression that is) and it was said earlier that pot is non habit forming.

no, it is very hard to OD on pot, one would have to eat 5 pounds or something ridiclous like that. it would clear his mind, and probably open him up, allowing him to talk about what happened.

Contrary to popular belief, the effects of weed are not always negative, even when used to cope with negative situations. Roll a fatty and talk with him, or just listen to what he has to say. I'd only worry about it if he starts smoking up constantly and by himself. My condolences and good luck.

Morphine (which I assume the father was taking. or a similar opiate) is nothing like marijuana.
Only one of the above is addictive & kills. guess which one?

edit: I almost forgot to add my condolences :(

sorry to not say sorry first time round. basically to od he must have been in a lot of pain quickly. the really sad thing is not beong able to say good bye i guess.

dont let the guy kane it too much tho, just at nnight time.

ps morphine is in the same family of chemicals as heroin, cocaine, and methadone and some others.

nope, coke isnt an opiate.

off the top of my head, opiates are = morphine, heroin, dialudid (sp), methadone, opium (duh), codeine, etc..

but yeah, opiates have their uses (pain killing, mostly. codeine helps with chest congestion as well, IIRC), but are not to be fvcked around with.. too easy to get addicted to and/or OD. (especially on the stronger ones).

Your friend's dad's death is sad but understandable. I have watched a couple of freinds pass from cancer. Once they knew they were terminal, they were in such pain that there were many times when they really didn't care if they OD'd. The hard part was knowing it wasn't a question whether they would die, just when. :(

If I were in your position, and I could safely get him some weed, I'd probably help him get the best I could find and make sure he was in a safe place to do it, and I'd probably join him in the ceremony.

It's also a pisser that the Feds make such a stink about letting cancer patients on chemo have access to weed. I know for a fact that it helps them. The canibinol pills are a sorry joke.

I'm sorry to hear that.

I agree with what just about everyone else has said though.. go smoke a bowl with him.. lol

If he's going to do it, at least he'll be doing it with someone who cares.

Peoples' perceptions sure are funny.. I mean.. some people see "weed", and go.. Oh My God! No! Don't! It's illegal!.. lol..

If they only realized that just about any prescription drug(and many over the counter) you can get will not only alter you more... they can kill you.

Be a friend. That's what he needs.

As directed by most people. I got some good sh*t, rolled two blunts and packed about two bowls. He just went home to do a few things, but he's coming back to my house, we talked for a while he told me all about it, was cool. I put a smile on his face a couple times by jokin around about shi* me and him always laugh about. Was a good time folks. PS > i'm currently pretty high :)

Now, stay cool, and don't drive or go out where you're ...umm... condition could get you in trouble.

Peace to you and your friend. :)

BTW, didn't your folks ever tell you not to boast about something like that unless you intend to share with everyone? ;)
