Horrible car accident...hit two parked cars!!!

Well, driving along today to pick up some lunch, I was balancing two large milkshakes in the passenger seat of my car.

About 20 feet from my parking spot, i make a gentle left turn, milkshakes start to tumble. I pull on the steering wheel to lean over, BOOM, and hit the back of a brand new 3 week old parked Acura TSX, shiny dark blue. Appparently the hand brake on the TSX wasn't on, the momentum cause it to hit a green caddy about 1 foot ahead.

My car lost a brush guard, headlight, and punctured a hole in the ac lines. Some hood damage as well. No collision converage, so i'm just gonna tie the hood down and hope it doesn't fly up and blind me.

The humliation of hitting two parked cars is terrible. Plus the front and rear bumpers of the TSX are ruined (crappy honda parts)...they fell off in a 5mph fender bender. Caddy lost some paint, but guy in the TSX made him stay to file a claim against me, (he was quite upset his brand new car was hit). I think he would hit me if the police didn't come.

Anyhow, off to find a second job to pay for my rising insurance premiums.

I've always wondered why people will lean over in a moving car to stop a milkshake.... at most you would have just had a fabric cleaning bill. But now it's much worse...

Same goes for people who do this with kids. Is it really worth hitting another car to yell at your kid in the back seat? Just deal with it when you are stopped...

Anyway, it's done and you realize it's your fault. That really sucks dude and I wish you the best with your insurance company! Hopefully all with work out for you.

Well, you're screwed.

Way to go stupid. Fabric stains are much easier to fix and are alot cheaper. At least you could had asked for one of those cardboard drink holders. Now you have a beat up car, higher insurance rates, and points on your record.

I don't know about your area (and/or your car)..but I'm not too sure a large milkshake would fit in my cup holders..

Do you think he had a choice at the time whether to hit the cars or stain his seat? I don't think so stupid.

I really can't believe that the impact speed was 5MPH -

No crap, if as much damage was done as he says in his post, I would venture a guess that the impact speed was a little more than 5MPH.

No better defense than to blame the crappy Honda parts on the the TSX when it is quite obvious who the mowron in the story is.

Not blaming anyone, just indicating what happen. It was a split second thing, milkshake or steer. I chose milkshake. It was a large one, didn't fit my my cupholder. Had two of them also.

I made it all the way back already so i let go, just as i made that gentle left turn. That caused it to spill. And those honda parts are pretty crappy, judging by his damage you would think it was a higher speed crash. I hit him at an angle, pointy thing in his bumper went thru my grill. No points or anything, just minor accident.

My first accident in 6 years of driving, so i was a little shaken up. I never really understood the whole part where people said accidents happen in slow motion, but thats what it seemed liked. I almost drove my car off a cliff once, but no real collision there. Rock pile saved me.

Wow, I didnt know that was widely shared. About a year ago I swerved to avoid a racoon going about 60,and I lost control. My civic did a full 360 and then another 180 so that I was in the other lane facing oncoming traffic. I popped in it reverse and squirted out with about 3 seconds to spare from being hit head-on. Probably took 8 seconds to happens but it felt like....forever.

anyways, suck for you. 🙁 Hope the insurance doesnt go up so much.

I had an asshat pull out of a gas station without looking trying to cross an intersection. I was going about 35mph ... about 25ft away in rainy condition...

I slid about 10 ft... ( stock 17" bridgestone potenza ) I'm glad I had good tires.

He's lucky I wasn't going any faster or I would have T-boned a the driver side. BTW it was a Lincoln Towncar.
