Well, I woke up this morning with a few zits here and there, but during the day, it just COVERED my cheeks.

I'm 22, I haven't had a single zit since I was 12.

And the only thing I can think of is last night I was at a wedding, sweating like crazy, and didn't take a shower when I came home until this morning.

But surely thats not enough to cause this instant acne, is it?

are you sure it is acne? by 22 your hormones have settled down, and working out harder a bit may or may not cause a sudden out break. maybe an allergic reaction? or an acute infection of some sort. get it checked out. can't really know unless we have pix.

yes that might have caused it due to all the dirt and sweat. that plus, whens the last time you washed your pillow casing? all that build up might be the cause

The not showering could definitely be the problem. I've done the same thing and broken out on my face and chest. I don't normally have acne ever, but not showering just lets that crap settle deep down and it pops up the next morning.

Can it be an allergy to crab? I ate more crabs earlier this evening (about 2 hours ago) and now it seems to have gotten even worse within a few hours.... the right cheek has stuff on it now and didn't before.

From here

What effect does diet have on my Acne?

None of the theories about diet having an effect on acne have been proven. A healthy diet is of course recommended and there are a few things that people with acne prone skin should try to avoid. These include foods high in iodine, salty foods, whole milk, cheeses and shellfish, particularly lobster, crab and shrimp. Drinking at least eight glasses of water a day to cleanse the body of toxins is highly recommended.

I just find it hard to believe that you haven't had acne since 12, and then suddenly you get acne now, at the ripe age of 22. Assuming you're not a super late bloomer, this kind of sudden out break means there is a trigger. One night of sweating and not washing mostly likely will not cause an out break the very next day. However, it's not uncommon to have some ugly show up because of some kind of allergy to tainted foods. In any case, since this is your face we are talking about, I highly recommend you take that cheek to a professional in the morning, perhaps a dermatologist, and get it checked out. Don't put any harsh cleansers on it, and don't scratch/pop/etc the ugly - just keep your hands off it. Wash your face normally, and leave it alone and show it to a MD asap. We really don't know what you have there until someone looks at it.

I never had acne my whole life and now Im 31 and for some reason this last year I started getting it. Cheeses and anything with oil makes me break out. Butter is bad too. Anything greasy. Sweat buld up causes it too. It's chilled out now though. Hopefully it stays away. man what a horrible thing to have happen. I feel bad for people who grew up with it. Nothing seemed to help except putting a thin layer of antibacterial dishwashing soap on it. Cleared it right up.

It could be an alergic reaction to something (like food) and the symptoms look just like pimples. I usually get them on my chest and back. Unless it's painfull, I'd leave them alone. Might be interesting to pop. If it's like what I get, it'll slowly fade away in a few days.
