I could understand maybe breaking the baby's neck by pulling on the head, but pulling the head completely off? It seems like that would take a lot of effort even when you're talking about a baby.

That's medical malpractice, right there. IANAD, but even I know that pulling on the head is dangerous.

And that's why we do C-sections.

What's interesting is one of the commenters saying the mom would have been better off delivering at home. Clearly if the baby could not come out vaginally at the hospital, he would have died during home birth too.
