Horn honking: Do you usually do the honking?

When you're being held up by some retard that sits at a green or blocks up the lane like in Skoorb's thread, do you honk your horn or do you wait patiently for the moons to align?

I find I'm usually the first to the horn...logically, the person right behind the offending car should be doing the honking, but they always let me down. So now, even if I'm 5 cars back I honk right away.

I honk when necessary. I give the person the benefit of the doubt (maybe they spilled their coffee, etc.) before I honk.

I honk if someone in front of me is pissing me off. Usually it would have to be on a sidestreet etc., obviously not on the expressway / highway. You have to make sure they hear it, look, and see the nice little birdie.

When I was going to work this morning and taking a right turn onto a busy road, some woman in front kept passing up opportunties to go. There was a guy taking a left on BOTH roads, and she didn't go...TWICE! I should have honked...

I usually don't care... I think the reaction they get when they realize they are a moron for sitting there, is priceless. They frantically try to drive and look at all mirrors at the same time to make sure no one is pissed. I just laugh.

I honk if it's obvious that the person in front of me has no idea the light changed. I just give it a little honk.
Aside from that, I'm really not in a very big hurry. Odds are I don't want to go where I'm going anyways.

I get out of the car, slam my door, RUN to the other person's car and proceed to lay a bitch slap on the person and honk his own horn with his face.

Only when necessary. So many people view getting honked at as a personal affront to their honor that it isn't worth. I honk my horn to let some guy know he's about BROADSIDE ME as he is pulling out of a gas station and the dude proceeds to follow me for 2 miles tailgating me and flashing his high beams and pulling up alongside me....not worth the trouble.

On this note, how many of you - like myself - are basically getting numb when it comes to sh!tty drivers?

These days, even when someone cuts me off for example, I can't find it in myself to care too much. The odd time, if someone almost causes an accident or something, then I'll get mad. But more and more, the little things are just slipping by the wayside and I don't do anything.

All the time. As I mentioned in the other thread I don't even think about honking the horn until after the fact.

I don't honk out of impatience.

Though one time, in a traffic jam, one dude felt it necessary to force his way in front of me, despite the fact that there was no gap. I blasted the horn nonstop for a minute or so until I eventually changed lanes because I needed to exit. I was in no mood to be trifled with.

I'll honk if someone doesn't notice a green light, or if they need alerting, but I'm not overly malicious with it. More informational than anything.

I learned to drive in India where the horn is the most important part of the car so I honk WAY more than necessary.

Honking is always necessary. It lets other drivers know that they are stupid asshole morons that really need to just get out of the road because your time is important and they are in your way.

Honk! Honk! Coming through fvckers!
